  • Is the bar of 5.4 and 3/4 (at the end of phrases) unique to Lizzy? If so - very special! Love this...

  • Johnny Winter's version surpasses this by far, IMO. Thin Lizzy's interpretaion is ok, but Johnny makes it work.

  • @Dogheadj

    lmao. Fuck no.

  • @TallicLizzy If you're willing to settle, that's up to you. Take a good look at the comments.

Anyway, just a matter of taste, I guess. I have some.

  • @Dogheadj

    NOPE.

  • Badass solo from Snowy

  • Will check it out smscamp. Johnny Winter always a good listen. Thanks for the reminder. M

  • Best of any of the Memory Pain versions i have seen.

  • @MrMEXDALE I don't know if you have heard the Memory Pain version by Johnny Winter from 2nd Winter but that verson totally took me away.

  • @smscamp I like Thin Lizzy but think Johnny's version is much better.

  • @daven58100 i listen to johnny winter but for the voice phil is better more soul more feeling

  • @phenix749 That's cool. Just two different versions.

  • the best solo by White... i never liked him.... but this one is not that bad....

  • Thin Lizzy RULE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thin Lizzy RULE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • flipside of ;"TroubleBoys "7"

  • What?!?!? huh?!?!? feckin'awesome!!!!!!!thankyou thankyouthankyouthankyoulizzyylives!!!!!

  • I don't recognize anyone but Phil. ??

  • @4rainbowed check the albumsleeves;Brian Downey;drums/Darren wharton;keys-syths/Snowy White;guitar/Scott Gorham;guitar/Phil..............

  • @804pillow Yeah on second glance- -- I'm more used to the Lizzy of Bad Reputation era, when Scott's hair was long and a different color, (who I DO recognize here, now), can't really SEE Brian Downey, and Snowy White was almost a *blink* not there, now here, not there, in the lineup of the 13 years of the band, if you catch the meaning.

  • german fräulein haha :D he likes blonds? :P

    cool sound!

  • A real treasure. For me ,Lizzy was one of the greatest live bands ever , one in a row with Led Zeppelin.Phil was a fullblood musican. I love him so. He was a very carismatic frontman. I hope, i see all me Idols in heaven

  • don't work for me little bit gutless ,don't like gary moore's its to studio sounding johnny's is a live raw sound and real gutsy

  • hey it´s great, nothing to dicuss

  • great vocals from phil. This is natural sounds. no sound engineering crap.

  • I think Gary Moores interpretation absolutely amazing

  • snowy really didnt bring much to Lizzy his style of play was totally off...

  • I disagree, I liked Snowy in Lizzy. The guitarist who didn't fit (in my opinion) was John Sykes. He was too heavy metal. Snowy was more bluesy which suited Lizzy.

  • i must agree with bluesugarmonkey. but be sure to check out "samantha" or "please dont leave me". both are phil feat. sykes. its much more mellow and melodic than the thunder album. might change your mind about sykes..

  • Totally agree. i can't figure out how Scott can deal with Sykes. Sad that Robertson can't play with them anymore...

  • Agree completely Sykes isn't Lizzy far too "metal".Sad that Robertson can't play anymore his performance on the One Night In Dublin dvd with Gary Moore prove this it's sad to see and hear a great talent lose it like he has.

  • Snowy was great for Lizzy. He added a different texture. His mellow blues fitted in perfectly with Lizzy's sound.

  • Well...phil wrote most material so what snowy gave to the band was his stage precense...and that wasen´t much. But a good guitar player yes.

  • Is this a Johnny Winter tune?

  • it was written and first performed by a black artist called Percy Mayfield

  • Memory Pain is a great blues tune, but this song is by another blues artist--John Lee Hooker--and the title is "Serve Me Right To Suffer."

  • man snowy needs to work on his bends

  • WOW!!!!!! I knew this song was out there, my first time hearing it....incredible!

  • ...And yeah ,its Snowy

  • It was released in 81! Its the B-side to "Trouble boys" ,Non of the song did make it to the next album "Chinatown"!

  • What I mean to say is. What year was this recorded and is this Snowy White on guitar?

  • who's playin' the axe man?

  • I had no idea? they covered this.

  • Where the HELL do you find these treasures? Great googlymoogly.

Can you find a clip of "A Night in the Life of a Blues Singer"? How about "Half Caste"?

  • yippeeeee got it, thanks

  • aaahhh! Thabj you for this! I´ve been hoping to see this song on live.
