Scariest game indeed... Fuck, they should've taken the same concept art for the movie portrayals and not turn it into the absurd-action flicks they are
@KatzOhki Plus the thing about the Japanese is they like to make movies that have nothing to do with a series main storyline. Unfortunately the Resident Evil movies keep making more then their budget. Makes you wonder how much it would make if someone actually did a good job. At that point you're entering Spider Man territory.
@bregowine You are exactly right. I was a huge fan of RE since '98. I anticipated the RE movie before it came out, and was utterly disappointed after watching it.
It truly is a beautiful mansion. It probably would have been a very nice place if the zombies hadn't taken over. But what doesn't make sense to me is the fact that there were so many people working and living there(just look at all the zombies we had to kill) and there was only 1 bathroom in the whole mansion.LOL
It makes me wonder what the mansion would have looked like while it was still active and people were still working there, before it got all dank and scary looking.
the best RE game of all is the RE1 remake, RE4 just ruined the ceries, its supposed to be a survival horror were you have some control of the game and outcomes and find out how to survive,but RE4 turned a grate scarry ceries with awesome exploring features into a linear gun´em all down static game whith no new expiriences after beating it w/the exeption of overkill guns,but RE1 u can re play 2or3 times and still find new things or options if u explore deep enough its a shame what hapened to RE
Wow! Seriously Capcom did a fucking GOOD job on this game! To this day im still scared of the creepyness of the game! It...It just looks so...REAL! Imagine that Resident Evil Happend in Real Life? Wow that would be fun!
Yeah, not too much detail was put into the rooms or farms houses. Though the artwork for the 4th was still incredible. It was just missing the lighting and extra detail in rooms.
But you also have to remember HOW much re4 had to offer, more than made up for the lack of detail. Though a few fans are pissed about re4, I personally thought it was a great game.
Yeah, people who think RE4 ruined the series need to think about second parties - RE4 caters to people who would rather have an easier playing experience than have to deal with the abominable camera angles. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE every game in the series, but RE4 is probably one of the best games ever created.

RE0 had lines like "and the world will burn in an inferno of hate! ha hahahaha!" so I could not take it seriously. And the mansion had very generic dim lighting.
I was typing in "Mansion Tour" -- wow. I'm so tempted to favorite this somehow but this is a real estate account... I'll be back under another name :D

When you play this game on a old tv (Like me) it totally add's to the horror!

I like the gamecube-version of Resident Evil 1 for it's realism, but the ps1 original for it's colorfulness.

Even to this day not many games graphics compare to it, even on the newer systems.

Well put. I love this game for the graphics, but it's also a pretty good game. I'm not sure the scenery in RE4 compares even.
