Because of this video I was able to twist my own hair. I use to pay like $175 to get it done by Africans, but I paid $20 for the hair and did it myself and it looked sooooo much better. Thank you sooo much!

What's the best hair for kinky twist?????

I have two questions:

1- Using this method, how long will the braids last? Would it last the same time as using the "braid at the scalp" method?

2- I have natural hair. Will twisting at the root both the kinky extension and my natural hair cause severe knotting? I'm referring to knotting that will be hard to comb out once I remove the braids. Severe knotting causes breaking, and I really don't want that. Your feedback is much appreciated.

I did my mom's hair using nina afro bulky and the braids unraveled at the end, I notice u used two types of hair and you added the shorter afro looking hair to the top middle . Can only one type of hair be used or do I absolutely have to have the to types of hair overlapping. I had been trying to figure out how they g t the ends to 'thin out" like that towards the ends of the braids..

Thank you soooooo much! I always have to watch this video b4 I do a client...refresh myself. Although I HATE doing the twist in technique (hard on my hands) it does look a lot better than the braid in method. I guess I'll get stronger and faster as I practice.

@MrsAChery You're welcome. Yeah Kinky twist are hard on my hands as well. I can only do 1 or 2 heads a month. The crazy thing is I can do micro braids every with no problem.

Hi, Nice tutorial but i think your start looks too painful and too tight. you will break hair especially on the edges of the head. So try to be gentle

Thanks for the comment ^_^ I promise you it's not painful. I'm very gentle with my clients hair. I've never had anyone complain of hair loss or sores. It's just I was working on the mannequin and it was kinda awkward. This is the technique you would use for the stronger hair behind the hair line. I actually use a completely different technique for the hairline.. it was really difficult to show on the mannequin so I left it out.
