  • Miss ya!

  • what is the song´s name? its to look the tab! help me

  • Damm, I only just heard! Goodbye Robert. I remember us on tour with you and Canned Heat, sharing thoughts in a bar on the Reeperbahn, Hamburg 1996-ish, on stage with Robert, Fito, Henry et al at the end of their set. Rest in Peace big man, you were just right for Canned Heat.

  • I miss this guy.

  • I met Lucas in rehab back in the 90's. He and I were roommates. He helped me pull it together when I was so lost. The thing I remember most about his playing was waking up in the morning to Lucas playing his steel guitar down on the basketball court. Hearing that come up the hill in the morning... lets just say i've never found a more peaceful way to wake up in the morning. Your definitely missed.

  • Un mounstruo, tuve la fortuna de verlo en Madrid 1996, junto a otro mounstruo: Henry Vestine.

  • Goodbye Robert , RIP-

  • Yesterday I was cruizing the bumpy Belgium highways going home. It was a long trip from France to The Nehterlands. When I heard this song I was blown away by Lucas' voice and the cool sound of the band. He isn't here anymore but he still gives people joy!

  • I swear to god, I knew Lucas since I was born, he was a great man, RIP Lucas, I love you!

  • watching him at Cagneys by the Sea(HB Pier)before developemnt..Sundays..surf all day jam to Luke and the Locomotives all night. Magic. Visit me Lucas in my dreams

  • This guy was an original. Just pure raw soulfulness.

  • So sad to hear of his passing. Great memories of Luke and the Locomotives on the Redondo Pier.

  • it's been a year now since you've been gone Robert, just wanted to say we remember you and your spirit . . .

  • I was a young Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton in the early 90's. Used to love seeing Luke and the Locomotives play at the Heritage Brewery in Dana Point. Inspired me to go back to Boston and become a blues guitar player. Still playing today and I still think about Robert. So sorry to hear he is no longer with us.

  • I was introduced to Robert Lucas shortly after I moved to CA 1999 by my late fiance. Just being newly introduced to the blues, I was blown away by Robert's talents. My fiance always admired Robert and was fortunate enough to have him jam on Sundays. It was awesome to watch Robert perform. Off stage, he was such a nice person and I was so honored when he played at my fiance's memorial service. RIP Robert....hope you and Brad are enjoying the BIGGEST jam!

  • A terrible loss at such a relatively young age of 45.

Willie Dixon loved Robert Lucas' sound and that what praise enough.

  • This is the first I heard of Luke's passing. When I became serious about playing blues harmonica I heard his recording of "Blues Man from L.A." I bought the cassette 'cause I liked that song. Well, "What happened to My Shoes" and "Moonshine" were the first two songs I ever learned to sing and play on harp. I still perform these. Perhaps I will post these as atribute to Robert Lucas, one of my favorite bluesmen and perhaps my biggest inspiration. God Bless You Luke and Rest in Peace. Jay

  • great video of robert at the australian blues fest with the heat and joanna sullivan on flute on you tube

    thank you robert

  • Luke was such an inspiration to me back in the 80s-turned me on to Big Momma Thornton.I had literally no knowledge of the blues that was the foundation of rock&roll. You were so young but had the curiosity to investigate the roots of rock and roll. Will NEVER FORGET the day you quit your job cleaning beaches in Long Beach and told your boss to take this job and shove it and handed in your uniform and never looked back i had SO MUCH respect for you that day and for many years after that love, laura

in 2008 he looked great. I'm so sadden miss him so.

  • Soulful singer, powerful, another man done gone. God bless.

  • A Smile, A Handshake and a Song. He would frequent our Sunday Night music meeting and really rock the house. His music will be terribly missed, but not as much as the smile and the handshake.

  • Robert keep the flame burning.

  • I met Robert in person a few years ago at the Blue Cafe. I tried to make it down there every Saturday afternoon. His voice was unbelievable. Going to miss you big time.

  • About Robert; I had the opportunity to make conversation with him a few years back at the Blues Cafe, just general conversation about music and blues. When talking with him I picked up the feeling and thought that this guy was a real artist who lived his music 100% This to me is very rare in the music business. He was the art as a person and gave it all to his listeners with integrity.

  • RIP Brother!

  • we had an informal memorial last night at the music meeting you started Lucas . . . much love in the room for you Robert, two of players broke out slides last night, I'd never heard them play slide before, you must of been in the room with us, I know you were in our hearts . . .

  • Would encourage all Lucas fans to not respond to the posts of 'theseriousatheist'.

He is just seeking attention and if we ignore him, he will blow away and find someone else to annoy. He will never enjoy the respect and admiration that we all feel for Robert.

  • This comment was in response to theseriousatheist.

  • You fucking prick....You probably didn't even know him. Robert was and will always be a good human being. He was an inspiration to me and many others. • Robert,

May your talent be appreciated in the afterlife. We all knew how great you were. Maybe fame will come at your passing. We will miss you. Born and died in Long Beach but his soul will forever live in the Delta.

  • I was shocked to hear the news. I always looked forward to seeing him perform. His harp, his voice, his guitar. What a performer. What a guy. RIP. Pat

  • Uncle Luc, Im deeply saddened to see you have left us. Your music is awesome and you played with all your heart and soul. Your laugh was contagious. You're the Big Man Mambo!!! I will forever remember you. xoxo

  • Lucas,

You will really be missed. We are all better off from getting to hear your music and getting to know you just a little bit.

  • You were and always will be a true musician in every sense of the word. You are missed and loved. My soul will ache for your amazing soulfull voice and beautiful spirit.

  • Sorry to see you go so soon. May your soul find peace and rest.

  • Your spirit lives Robert . . .

  • R.I.P. Lucas. play them blues with the angels and send down your love to the TLC.

  • I have followed this band from the Starbord attitude bar in redondo beach to the blue cafe in long beach to the blue dog in beautiful lakewood and still keep loosing my cd's to my friends with this song. u must see this band live!!!!

  • my favorite...wow...pump up the volume!!!

  • He tells the song history. A unknown Master.

  • I heard Lucas on 88.1 5 yrs ago and never forgot that voice or song. He sings Delta so raw I thot he was Black!

  • I've been a fan of Robert Lukas since the late Eighties. He is not only one of the best singer/player and composers of today's Blues, he celebrates the legends of those who've preceded him admirably. "Luke" is a Southern California treasure and a blues icon. He's also one helluva nice guy.
