You're confusing yourself by applying the logic to an argument where your definition no longer holds true. Eg, All the girls I met are soft and cuddly. I define girls as being soft and cuddly. Yes, it is egotistical to assume time, or gravity etc exist for humans. The human condition is in flux and does not exists all the time in a state of arrogance. Not being clear is a technique to always be able to prove the other person's opinion wrong by changing the context after receiving an answer.
