IRELAND - 7 MUSLIMS ARRESTED IN PLOT TO KILL SWEDISH CARTOONIST
4 men and 3 women were arrested in a plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist. Some of the muslims arrested hold Irish citizenship and some are originally from the Middle East. They range in age from mid 20's to late 40's.
They were detained by Gardaí in Waterford and Cork for conspiracy to murder the Swedish cartoonist.

Past Irish emigration is regrettable and unfortunate, but I wonder if it would have happened without a certain oppression by a foreign rule. That emigration also damaged Ireland in more ways than one. Irish culture took a battering because of it. Still.. emigration of that size would not have happened if the English rulers didn't take Irish grain from a starving country.
What makes mass immigration of today different is it's entirely systematic. Open borders will solve no problems.

Stop and think for a minute. Connolly's parents emigrated from Ireland to Scotland, and James decided to come back to Ireland to fight for the cause. He may have been an immigrant in Scotland, but he certainly wasn't one in Ireland.

And as the indo-europeans left western asia they vacated those lands. And those lands were filled by the asians that are there today, 2 totally different ppls.

@barneyboscoe on the contrary, the english language was adopted as the vernacular by irish parents. the english tried to get rid of the irish langauge but it proved difficult and time consuming. but in time, the irish saw the english language as important for migration and thusly parents wanted their children to speak english. children would go to school with a stick and for everytime a teacher caught them speaking irish a notch was carved into it. parents would belt the child for every notch

THE state has spent more than €6.8m in the past 5 yrs on flights to send failed asylum-seekers back to their countries.
6,000 people are now classified as 'evading deportation' with only a quarter of all orders actually ever implemented.
In the past 6 yrs, justice ministers have signed close to 8,500 deportation orders fewer than 2,500 of these have ended in repatriation.
