I have been lucky enough to meet Mark Morris on a couple of occasions and what a lovely, sweet bloke he is. A proper gentleman. He sees the music biz for what it is but him and his band haven't let it wear them down and still continue to make great music and put on some superb live shows. They always pull a very decent crowd when they play in Scotland. Long live The Bluetones!
We're supporting the singer at The Cockpit, Leeds on March 3rd and can get tickets considerably cheaper than normal door / ticket price. Just send us a PM and we'll sort you out. Hope you like our tracks, see you on the 3rd x
Theres something wonderfully English about the Bluetones, they are truly underated, I saw them the other week at Sheffield uni playing to no more than 40 people and dont forget they played to huge festival crowds in th 90's but they still played there socks off for 40.
It must drive these fellas nuts when they see the tat acts that are making shed loads of money at the moment. N dubz I'm looking at you.......
In Glasgow last night.. "A song about domestic violence, another Scottish invention".. oh Mark, you cheeky scamp. Great band to see live, with a loyal and passionate fanbase. Top gig.

@bobbydavison10 I saw them in November too and i must say it's one of the best gigs ive ever seen and ive seen the who in action!!! Chris Martin and co killed the bluetones revival with the pap they continue to produce to this day. Thats wat 'Mudslide' was about but no one heeded the warning!! SCUMS GUNA KEEP ON RISING!!!
Plus are you the same bobby davison who played for leeds utd in the early nineties? Just thought Id ask!!!
What a beautiful man, and a beautiful voice, this band is so incredibly underrated. Really cool video clip too, simple, creative, touching, and surreal. Who needs the big budgets when you have the cool ideas?
How does this tune have nearly 40,000 views but Hope and Jump has barely 500? Hope and Jump is my personal favourite song by these guys and seems to be almost totally unknown.
just wondered if anyone's heard the American version of this, just wondered how it's different. (no brass band i suppose. wonder what they replaced it with - country 'n' western?)
@SimonB198207 don't know if it's the american version, but I've got another version off a tones album which is more of an acoustic version with no brass band, still really good though!
saw them live on thurs night - awesome! i'm totally hooked on them now. mark looks worryingly good in lippie ;) i didnt really know this song a week ago but its now one of their faves - i'm gonna buy their singles collection asap and buy other CDs as soon as i can afford to!
its good they're still playing gigs, when their first album came out in the mid 90s,i just thought 'oh another britpop band' but i really enjoy listening to their older stuff now, they sound alot better then todays pop music.
Magda, thanks for this video. Keep the home fires burning is one of my favorite song. This is the first time I see this video since I heard this song in year 2000

That verse kills me:
"Now I've got no-one to turn to,
I guess I'm at my wits' end...
I'm beginning to learn who...
Are really my friends..."

incredible tune and band should have been a lot bigger than they were ,
i remmember at the time nme kept on about how much the singer looked like ian brown and had his manerisms instead of how good the band were

Actually a bloody clever video. Talented lads too. All of them can play guitar and drums. Criminally over-looked.
