Well, it uses premium, but since it is a regular TL, it doesn't suck as much gas as the type-S. Also, I mostly drive it in sportshift mode, which gets me about 23 mpg in the city. You just have to drive smart and not try to show off at stop lights.
The red gauges r for the TL type-S. The regular TL has the blue interior and ambient lights. I agree with u, I like the blue lights better thats why I got the base one :)

hows the rattles treating you. i also have a 08 TL-S and the rattles in my car r killin me. i was able to most of them tho.

the rattle in the cabin? Its not too bad, sometimes its the coins I put in the cup holder thats causing it.

thats cool, make sure u aim the driver's side lower on the projectors. or else would cause too much glare.

yeah, acutally the sound is not bad at all. I'm sure the 09 TL has better sound, but mine 08 also sounds awesome.

Damn I luv that car! does the interior lights change 4rm red to blue? cuz I seen the 08 with red int. lights.. j/w cuhz I would prefer the blue.
