The old east village and loisaida are slowly being destroyed by the yuppies moving in, sad to see old New York neighborhoods disneyfyed so they feel comfy. With them comes all the crap consumerism and out goes the real culture.
This is what happens when a once great city gets over-run with filthy Banksters and Wall Street scum. Creative meccas are reduced to retail stores selling overprice shit manufactured in Vietnam.
@FlashframeFilms: You obviously know nothing about New York. Those "filthy banksters and Wall Street scum" have been around a hell of alot longer in NYC than the creative artsy types you'd prefer. If you knew anything about NYC, you'd know neighborhoods have been changing for 400 years. And who do you think pays the brunt of the taxes that make the city run, broke-ass artists or Wall Streeters?
NYC was and is a city built on commerce, not the arts. It's actually you who is the outsider.
So fuckin' sad. I can't believe they didn't try to keep going on somewhere else. Sure, it's not the original place, but that doesn't mean you just roll over and die does it? Or does it?
the shame :c
