Demons are demented souls, and they get killed all the time. Season 6 is the season with a lot of continuity errors and flaws.

@Metzerification Firstly, how could Eve have created monsters from other cultures, like Sirens? Sirens were daughters of Greek Gods! Burning a demon's corpse, should NOT be able to kill them. And yes, this is where what you just said comes into play. When we burn a ghost's corpse, we're NOT killing it, just sending it into the afterlife to rest. And honestly, no matter how I look at it, there's no way in the world Eve could've made every single monster. And how ALL monsters could have an Alpha.

gotta love the FX production on this show... the fires, the glows, the blood, the bone breaking sounds, the wings of the angels, the morphings...

the first season, with the cheap cuts and make-ups to hide the effects, was OK

then they started going higher and higher up to this plot line, the apocalypse, the angel wars and the rise of Castiel.

the true visual enhancement comes when you put effects on when needed and use acting and cuts when needed.... not everything has to be crappy obvious CGI.

@Omega1867 I think it's just a very strong form of telekinesis (moving things with your mind). Gabriel's powers were seen in season 2 episode 15 (he created stuff out of thin air) and s3 e11 (he created time loops and morphed into a different person) but these were as the Trickster and his more-Angelic powers were seen in s5 e8 (he created pocket universes, turned Sam into the Sampala, morphed into Dr Sexy and overpower Cas) and s5 e19 (this episode).

@paxpacis2 nah i think they just vanish! but there is a problem of demons which i just remembered. see they are souls right. and if i heard correctly in supernatural a soul cant be destroyed. so when dean and sam shove the knife through a demons skull does that mean that the soul which occupies the vessel dies? so confusing :S

@darthchris19 Actually, demons are just ghosts. There was one episode where Bobby burned a demon's bone and killed it, and later was threatening to burn Crowley's.

@TheSparklybubble Now that's the confusing part. When you burn a ghost's remains, you are burning the one thing that's binding them to the world of the living. It is supposed to allow them to pass on into their afterlives, not kill them permanently...

But since demons have already passed on a long time ago... Maybe it's because demons are no longer able to pass on, and are weak due to their souls being demented. Too weak to survive the burning of their remains.

@159tony I think you got it all wrong. When we burn the remains of a ghost, we're sending it to rest. The remains are why they are still bound to the world of the living. If you cremate them from the beginning, they won't even be approached by a Reaper, they would be directly in Heaven/Hell.

Just that it was a different case for demons. Actually it isn't even right to show that that is a way to kill demons.

@darthchris19 Most probably. I think since the Knife kills demons, which are demented souls, the vessels' souls should die as well.

You've to see things in a way that certain beings like Pagan Gods, Angels and Demons only have ONE life. They're not like humans, able to be killed when alive, and killed again when dead. But monsters like vampires and werewolves, on the other hand, do have 2 lives. And they spend the second in Purgatory.

But yes, souls of humans and monsters CAN die.

@paxpacis2 No, when you kill a demon, you're killing the spirit, a spirit does not have a spirit, only a living person. You're killing its "second life". So no, after that, they vanish permanently. Into nothingness.
