Ho sentito varie riproposizioni di questa canzone dal vivo con Bruce Dickinson alla voce (oltre alla data di Milano durante il tour di "Dance of Death" del 2003 da me presenziata) e devo dire che la sua voce è veramente impressionante. Nonostante la canzone nel complesso sia stata abbassata di un tono, nel riornello la sua voce sale di un ottava rispetto alla versione originale... Cosa si può aggiungere? Credo di aver detto già tutto... Bruce è un portento!

Bruce is my favorite Maiden singer, but he is pretty terrible singing Di'anno and Bayley tunes. This is pretty weak. He's the screaming the chorus...how about hitting some melodic notes.

really? No, I don't agree... For me songs like "Lord Of The Flies" and "The Clansman" are much better sung by Bruce.

Come on, you have to admit he has a tendency to scream his way through parts of songs rather than SING them. Hence why I feel his versions of Blaze and Di'anno songs are lacking to the original. Not always, but in general. The Clansman version by Bruce is enjoyable I would agree, but not as good as Blaze singing it.

well, I don't think we'll ever agree :), it's a matter of taste, and you can't convince someone else that "this is more beautiful" :D.

You know, I don't like Bayley's voice, I find he sounds clumsy in a certain way. Like I told to someone else, I think Bruce gives another dimension to this song, especially in the last refrain when he passes from the lower octave to the higher one. It's not about better or worse, it's different, but I like it more.

@metalnjazz You're entitled to an own oppinion in every way... Allthough, I wouldn't argue about how Bruce sings THIS song. In fact, this is probably how Steve Harris would have wanted the song from the beginning, due to Blaze lack of range they probably couldn't. Can't argue with the composers..

@HLTWilder This version is actually re-arranged. They tuned it down one half stepso that Bruce could go up that high in the refrain. If they had tuned it down a whole step maybe Blaze could have done it too.

non sono d'accordo: secondo me non ha nessun bisogno di dimostrare nulla, e lui lo sa benissimo, a lui piace cantare le canzoni di Di Anno e di Bayley. Secondo me la voce di Bruce aggiunge una nuova dimensione a questo brano, specialmente quando nel ritornello finale passa dall'ottava bassa a quella alta. Ma sono opinioni.
