  • Wow a GP40 is what the F40PH is based off of guess the EMD tech needed to step in when GE failed.

  • this very rare

  • Indeed, and to think I actually almost didn't blow off going out with a girl to see this... what was I thinking...

  • There's quite a few of our locomotives floating around up in the Northeast. IIRC some where in New Jersey is one of our SD40-2's

  • Excellent video. It's definitely rare for 417 to lead an Amtrak consist. I responded with a video that has her nice RS3L blaring in chilly Fort Lauderdale air. :D

  • RA puts FEC locos in some funny places

  • Wow! FEC Locomotive found it's way up in MA???!!!!! Awesome video!!!!!!

  • Pretty nice rareity. Awesome catch Matt

  • Cool. Do you know how many times I had the 417 in the lead in Florida? Great shot.

  • Probably many times.

Must be nice down there, not having to deal with wet leaves, 1% grades, jointed rail, and the cold (all at the same time)...

  • I'll guess 417 times? LOL... I'm sure you preferred the 444 to it though, Dave. ;-P

  • Awesome Catch!

  • Wow lucky catch! The last and only time a FEC engine pulled an Amtrak was last year when they were running the Christmas Carol train. You definitely hit the jackpot tonight.
