  • My son has a Peavey Envoy 110 (TransTube) its a pretty clear loud little sucker. Question: My son has a BC Rich Warbeast Trace T it has the BCR stock BSDM pick-ups in it from the factory. Lookin to put EMG 81/85 or 81/60's maybe even 2 81's but doubt the last one. Are the EMG's a pain in the butt to install PROPERLY?

  • @WoodyWV38 ditch the bc rich and active pickups!!!!!

  • I don't know why everyone is upset at the truth, but look at the Fender Telecaster. They keep putting out the same "ashtray" bridge that cannot be used to intonate the guitar and then call it retro. Look at the Peavey T series guitars, late 70s and early 80s models, great instruments, first to use CNC machines, and several ways to sweeten the action. Never brought this back. And he should! But you got to respect someone looking to the future. And the Vypyr amps kick the Line6 amps ass up & down.

  • I'm NOT a big fan of his amps, but I have always found Mr. Peavey a total gentleman whenever some1 interviews him.

    A legend for sure!

  • Awesome interview TK! Peavey makes great guitars and amps

  • I'm sorry... but Hartley was an ass in the interview in my opinion! How dare he take these big shots at his competitor brands. I find no class in that. However I think that the Tone King gave an excellent interview (as always) and he had some great patience. God bless TTK

  • You know what? I was getting ready to jump in and defend Hartley, but after reading your comment I rewatched it and I have to say, you are 100% correct. Someone should point out that his company has had some epic flops and has produced some real crap occasionally. Why do companies (Fender & Gibson is who he was taking shots at) keep re-issuing the same stuff over and over? Cause they got it right, and people want a tried and trued instrument. I love my Les Paul & Strat!

  • Peavey has had some interesting stuff over the years, but they do seem to have this stigma of being a "low-end" manufacturer. Their major success though was the 5150 heads, and even the Valveking amps were pretty cool too. So when he says they haven't been doing a good job educating people I tend to agree.

  • Great interview. It almost seemed like TTK was Mr. Peavey's grandson and he was educating him.

  • He seems so angry but he is right about what he is talking about.

  • what a passionate man !

  • This was a very interesting contrast to Marshall that is reintroducing a number of mini amps from different eras. Great interview TK. Thanks for your effort to bring these interviews to all the viewers.

  • I like Peavey and I think Hartley comes off as an honest interesting guy. I love several of their guitars and amplifiers........I just wish they would start putting a little bit more effort into their speaker cabs.

  • I love listening to Mr. Peavey, I mean Hartley! Great interview!!

  • got a lot more respect for Heartley watching this video, he has the same mind set if i had my own guitar brand or amplifier company , definitely worth the 20 minutes watching this.

  • Prefered this guy over Paul Reed Smith! He seems like a nice guy, unlike PRS seems like a seller..

  • Thank you ToneKing, was great to hear Peavey!!!

  • The best interview ever!!! TheToneKing almost cried in the end... :D

  • TK thank you so much for all the vids of this event, You Rock man!!!.....You went above and beyond!

  • glad someone recognizes the genius of hartly peavey he and his company are known as the cheap way out when really and truly create and sell high end equipment

    great interview

  • can you change the pups in the at-200 ?

  • @thorazine100mg They're completely independent from the "self-tuning" circuit, so of course you can.

  • I have seen everyones coverage and Lewis is the fastest coverage on Namm Congratulations Tone King. Mr. Hartley should be given a medal of honor for all the US workers he employs in his factories across the USA. He is a great inventor and a great gentleman.

  • thanks for all the hard work and great videos Tone King!!!

  • If I remember correctly, Marshall is now owned by Korg. So that makes Hartley the last of the original companies that are still owned by the original owner. In fact that is where Blackstar came from. The lead engineers from Marshall formed Blackstar after Marshal was taken over by Korg.

  • @kempavenueband Just looked it up, Marshall is still owned by Marshall. they were only distributing Mashall products in the USA for a while, and they now distribute Blackstar, Vox, Lâg and HK Ausio products in the US.

  • @SteelSkin667 Thank you for the update. I knew that Korg was involved for a while, but it is hard to keep all the corporate connections straight these days.

  • I love this guy, no bs, gives it to you the way it is. I never had any Peavey products, makes me want to look at Peavey.

  • Mr peavey makes my heart warm.. :) Very honest and innovative!

  • I've always loved Peavey products. They gave me my start as a musician, and continue to be my staple in sound. Thank you, Hartley Peavey!

  • You got hartley to give the sign that is awesome. I am now a PEAVEY fan. He is the modern day Leo Fender and maybe more.

  • Yeah but nothing will ever beat a 6505..

  • When he says "companies who bask in past glory" he is taking a shot at Gibson & Fender. They scored a hit, and keep recycling it to keep cashing in on that success. The Les Paul & Strat keep reappearing in new itenerations, but they are the same ol' thing with a new twist. Don't get me wrong, there is a reason that that they do. If it's not broke, don't fix it. I have and still own both. My Les Paul friggin' rocks. As well as my Strat. But he's right in the end.

  • huge new respect for Peavey as a company!

  • Hartley Peavey is the EFF'ing MAN! Great interview! You can hear his passion and frustration. And after all these years he's still hungry to innovate.

  • It's sad to say, but i think peavey is going down... they lost every major artist... EVH made his own amps, and now satriani gets a marshall signature? whos left?

  • @wtfwasthatt satriani is a case where he wanted one thing and peavey wouldn't give it to him so he went to marshall. evh is a story of a man that became very difficult to work with because of his addictions. hartley can bs people very well. has he gone down? nope they are still in business. alot of his competition over the years are gone.

  • @TheSammyreynolds well, thats what i meant... i know that peavey is way too far from the dead line, but he just cant compete anymore with marshall, mesa, fender and the other big ones... i think the same from laney...

  • @wtfwasthatt I don't think he's trying to compete with those guys. He never has. Peavey was always a company that made products for the working musician. Now I will say this, Fender out of all the big name guys are the most affordable.

  • @wtfwasthatt us

  • @rgjmce666 Haha sure its, i love my peavey bandit for home studing, and studio work!

  • @wtfwasthatt yeah i have a peavey bass amp, best amp for the money. although i'll be honest and i use marshall for guitar but have considering a peavey 6505+ (i think is the right name) for guitar too

  • @rgjmce666 That's a kickass amp... It's probably THE amp for extreme metal, but it doesn't look very versatille...

  • @wtfwasthatt well that is up for debate

  • Thank you tone king that was an awesome video.

  • When it comes to the Mt. Rushmore of music giants, one face is reserved for the bearded one.

  • You should do another interview on Revalver! :)

  • There's no Santa Claus!!!

  • I like his enthusiasm. He is right about the same old stuff from alot of people.

  • Amazing interview I personally don't like Peavey that much but this guys just changed the way I look at gear

  • and referring to the Brown Sound ! ! ! ! !

  • This guys got an opinion like no other, breath of fresh air from todays generic

  • thanks again Lou ! Hartley is one of the warmest guys on the planet ! thank you for your interviews !

  • AWESOME interview!!!! Hartley is a total inspiration! Even at this stage in his career, that guy is STILL PUSHING THE ENVELOPE and driving product forward. I love what he said about mumbo jumbo and calling things just what they are. What a tremendously genuine human being! AWESOME.

  • Such a straight shooter. I love vintage and re-issue gear but this guy is just refreshing to hear. The industry needs him. Great interview!

  • Mad respect for this guy he literally changed the way I view gear with this interview

  • He is true to his word! I love how out of hundreds of different "new and different" guitars and amplifiers are just variations on the same old stuff. He is really trying to break free of that cycle.

    Peavey is great!

  • Nice video TONE KING, Love my Peavey Wolfgang. Had it for 11 years, it ain't going no where!

  • Love the subtle edit there. I wonder what he said about Fender ;)

  • @siamesemojo I just watched the raw footage. There was no content of Hartley Peavey edited there. I had a camera guy asking questions which was irrevelant to the interview, which is why I edited that out., but none of HPs talk was edited.

  • @lmsjr ah cool! I wasn't taking a shot at the dude, just saying what it looked like is all. You're doing an awesome job with these videos man! I'm having trouble keeping up :P

  • @siamesemojo probly asked him if he's a bender

  • Good God Tone King, you're uploading these videos faster than I can watch them.

  • i don't like technology.

  • really nice interview

  • So refreshing to hear a man like Mr. Peavey. I'm also fan of the truth.

  • love my jsx, thanks Mr. Peavey!!!

  • awesome videos keep up the good work :)
