  • That police officer with the hose just goes to show that all cops really want to be firefighters!

  • I like the guy in the green shirt. The fire sounds like the gates to hell and yet he still wants to get closer. He should be thanking that cop.

  • BLEVE = Blast leveling everything very effectively.

  • lucky it was just a 9kg bottle!?!?! 40kg would of taken out everyone in the foreground

  • the cop was just trying to keep cool

  • if you ever see a burning fuel tank like this, get a thousand feet away and behind something.

  • lol everyone is FAT a pity the didn't explose

  • Fucking dumb ass cops trying to be firefighters with a garden hose... DUDE that hose aint going to do shit! Your bringing a pocket knife to a gun fight!

  • lol the garden hose. hes gonna need a back up man to keep the weight off the hose lol.

  • As soon as you hear it roar like that after it was being relatively quiet, you know its about to explode.

  • Those people are stupid for being that close. BLEVEs are so deadly.

  • if someone got hurt the guy who said 'i got that on video' would look like the biggest asshole

  • hahaha what was on the end of that hose......tug tug boooooooooom!!

  • ONE question. Why was there no fire crew? and Why were there only 2 cops there

  • INSANE!!!! I've seen explosions, but never one like this ever

  • 0:59

  • BLEVE: Blast Levels Everything Very Effectively

  • @shollys9 lol, but no, BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion)

  • I think both those cops knew what that sound meant. One of them started moving people back once it started. The other one used the garden hose to wet the grass so burning liquid and possibly metal didn't make the fire spread.

  • It never stops surprising me how the public always want to get close to a fire. Imagine this on a bigger scale and all these spectators would be gone.

  • It's a propane emergency I'll tell you what.

  • "oh shit"

  • what did this guy have in his garage!!!

  • @brucebu Probably has in his garage what a lot of people do. A 20lb bottle of propane, gallon or two of gas, bunches of spray cans, oils, transmission fluid, oil based paints, etc. The next time you are in your garage, add up how much flammable liquid is in there. Mine is in a separate shed away from the house.

  • It seems the fire has a personality and took it as a direct, infuriating insult that anyone would try to put it out with a garden hose.

  • How big of a propane tank was it

  • ya thats y cops arent fire fighters lmao who does that pull a damn garden hose on a BLEVE lmao i wonder what he was thinkin when he grabbed that hose..... im gonna be the hero of the week for this lmao.. heres a quote for ya... do you know y god made fire fighters... so cops could have heros too lmao JANE LEW VOULENTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT BITCHES

  • @lilwinn93 The rest of us firefighters aren't impressed. Learn how to spell the name of your own fire department, and don't act like a thug.

  • @ffjsb Agreed. I am a fellow brother as well and it saddens me to hear and read the comments of so-called firefighters that obviously do not know what they are talking about and make themselves and the rest of us look bad. Before people call themselves a "Firefighter" I hope they at LEAST have FF1 cert or WIldland FF1 cert. And to talk like that demands NO respect from anyone.

  • @lilwinn93 You know if you WERE a firefighter you would realize that the Officer on the scene with the garden hose is not trying to fight the fire, he is doing structure protection on the adjacent structure to help ward off the radiant heat of the inferno. When it got too dangerous he retreated to the front, but still kept the only protection he had, water. Hats off to the guy for trying to do the job of protecting life and property in a safe manner away from the fire with what resources he had.

  • where was this

  • :23 it sounds like that lady is saying to someone, "What's all that noise?" *someone says something* "What?" she says.

    The BOOM answers.

  • Haha the cop is just pissing in the wind...

  • Was the guy in the green shirt trying to turn the fire off with his mullet?

  • cop is just fucking around and must be getting some direction from Emergency responders who are on the way to this scene rather than being smart enough to control with this tiny hose....huh

  • Oh and also, BLEVE - "Blast Leveling Everything Very Eficiently" works too ;)

  • Looks like simple fume explosion. When it goes bleve it: 1. Creates big non-tranparent cloud of fuel/gas particles. 2. It doesnt explode/detonate but rather fire from source expands quickly through cloud but slow enough to see propagation of flame.

  • I love those blue canaries (cops). They are just funny sometimes. Luckily no one was hurt. That was way too close to be for something to BLEVE.

  • Ha frickin cops all wanna be firefighters.

  • I live in Sunnyvale, Cops are Firefighters, and Paramedics aswell!

  • God made firefighters so Police would have Heroes.....Right

  • could be a plan!! have them trained and all carry a hose to hook up to a hydrant on the street or something.

  • looks like no one at the scene knew what the sound meant. they are lucky no one was hurt/killed.

  • @1nm1 true at fire college they said when you hear that sound that mean GET THE FUCK BACK ITS ABOUT TO BLOW!!! the cop should have told everyone to start getting far away from the house

  • Awesome!

  • best ending comment ever.

  • That cop shouldn't have pulled that garden hose! jesus

  • it did look like a party popper effect, didn't it?

  • Firefighters don't engage bank robberies, so why do cops engage fires?

  • the police try to keep the area of a dangerous fire incident secured so nobody gets injured or killed.

  • I was referring to the officer with the garden hose. lol. When a fire sounds like a jet engine, drop your garden hose and run.

  • you were referring to the police officer with the garden hose. I see. the police officer trying to put out a gas cylinder fire does not know the safety issue of putting out a gas cylinder fire. fire fighters always leave any gas cylinder or tank on fire to burn out by itself. the message did not went through the police officer's mind when he tried to put out the gas cylinder fire with a garden hose.

  • - @ aurora990 -

But he was watering the lawn.......why run....the grass is dying.

  • it looks like he is trying to water the lawn to keep the fire from spreading. the grass is green so it is hard for a fire to spread. in addition, you cannot spray water to a propane tank that is making a jet noise. water does nothing to quickly cool down a propane tank that is about to explode. nobody can juggle 2 jobs at the same time. a police officer and a firefighter job from one person is not possible at the same time. I would get away from a burning propane tank.

  • hahahahahaaha fucking cop with the garden hose, classic

  • fuck..

ich hätte mich heftig erschreckt :D

  • All I have to say is damn... That's unfortunate, but impressive. Good training footage for firefighters, good post. Kudos.

  • lol the screams are my cousin and my sister,

  • @snapplecap32 All women know that screaming keeps you safe.

  • Gotta love the cop with the garden hose! Idiot! There was a warning of the impending explosion in the video, it's the freight train sound you here just before the explosion.

  • I'm not sure if you are a firefighter, but this is an excellent training video for firefighters. Thanks for the post.

  • haha i learned about these in the fire academy and went over it again just today in my tactics and strategy class, whats with the guy with the garden hose, i mean come on, thats not gonna do a single thing.

  • i don't know who you are, but what is your problem with this video?

  • Who are you? Which firehouse might you be talking about? I hope its not the one featured in this clip....

  • I just figured it out. I didn't see your comment on my video of this fire. Thought the house looked familiar. :)

  • Nice boom! Excellent video! Was this in Orting?

  • Wow--at :14 listen to that roar...sounds like a jet revving up the engines to get ready to taxi down the runway! SCARY stuff!

The blasat scared the jillies outta me...yikes! The one guy DUCKED---and I like the comment from the (I guess) person taking the video--"OH SHIT"...yeah, that is about what I said too and I wasn't even there!

    ~LauraG.~

  • thanks for your comment

That was me behind the camera, I just happened to be neer by when the fire started. I was there befor the fire department was. I even got this clip on the local news.

  • Wow...that still must have been so scary for you! This is great footage--MUCH better than a lot of news crews! :) I hope all is well with you now. :)

  • Not to argue with you, but the sound you hear is most likely coming from a propane tank, not a vehicle. Sry about your grandparents house.

  • Whoa, that is impressive, good video. That cop should not have bothered with the garden hose, that is a good way to get killed.

  • the sound you heard was a propane venting then bersting (big boom!) no one was hert in the fire. the fire stared in the shed and spred to the house.

  • Great video! Do you know what exploded? That was definitely the sound of a propane or oxy-acetalyne tank venting, but not being able to vent fast enough = BOOM! I am surprised at the couple of people that got closer when they heard the noise. When you hear a noise like that, run like hell!
