  • I thought it was going to be some boring old post, but it really compensated for my time.

  • I love the topic! great vid!

  • market needs to collapse

  • America is a superpower and even their house prices crashed. A SUPERPOWER even fails . What makes Australia soo special ??

  • This guy is a total moron just like any other govt officials are. They're no more different than snake oil salesmen.

  • What a brain dead twit you are,if the market crashes houses will once again become affordable where they should be!Australia is a country full of land pimps greedy guttersnipe land sharks and parasites on those who are the savers of the world inflating house prices beyond the reach of the middle class. .But Aussies are the smartest folks on earth,it cant happen here.Just flood the country with newbies and she'll be right mate.Google in Florida land boom and bust and start learning something.

  • you are 100% correct

If prices don't come down quickly then I am off to NZ

  • I like it how he didn't say "if" but he said "when". He knows whats coming

  • Fuck you jack I'm alright.

  • The crisis happened when average homes tripled overnight. The first home buyers grant should be abolished and negative gearing should be scaled back. Thats the only way to save Australia from these economy fucking house prices.

  • Expect Australian house prices to decline by 50% in the next few years. We are in a bubble of epic proportions.

  • Rubbish.

Our population has been out growing our housing supply for a decade. Rental vacancies are at record lows.

There is no sub prime crisis here like the US. Our lending criteria are far more stringent so you'll never see a flood of people forced to sell up, which is what bottoms the market.

  • the lucky country aint so lucky anymore is it PETE

  • Is their a crisis minister?. No no, you only have a crisis when the markey collapses".

Well, lets ask him that question today and see his views. He was such an idiot.. Why did they pick him.?

  • the boom is the problem, the crash is just the market correcting itself, yes people will get burnt, but that's life.

  • So many whingers around. I'm 30 and I have a modest house in a decent suburb within 10km of melbourne CBD.... but I've sacrificed for it! No travelling OS like so many people do, no fancy cars, no big screen tv. Just saving and working towards being finacially independent later in life. You can whinge all you want, but its not going to change SQUAT. YOU have to man up and do it for yourself. No one is going to hold you hand.

  • No one expects a handout

Why should it take me and young Australians our whole life to pay a house off, when it took our parents generation only a matter of years to pay it off

  • @Magnum1978 you have no fucking idea you spastic

  • we've been spoilt, thats the problem, young ppl wanting their first homes to be better than the ones they grew up in, having to have new cars and every other luxury, cant afford to live where ya want? Harden up and live in a cheap area. My friend just bought a house in Logan (inbetween bris and goldcoast) 240k, another friend bought a semi de house in punchbowl syd 235k, buy cheap, enjoy life, :)

  • @postsaftermerjkn 235k 240k is not cheap you fucking idiot

  • What an out of touch "DICKHEAD YOU REALLY" are,it is no wounder to me as to why your brother TIM has taken to Jesus having a brother like you to contend with. However he is doing ok from the poor I guess so maybe it runs in the family!

  • What a FUCKEN PRICK

  • But 'lil Johnny and Bozo Costello said...'We've never had it so good.'

Don't tell me they were lying.

  • dvorak18 its wonderful that you and your friends are doing alright, if only it were the case for alot of other people, less focus needs to be on the people that have and can afford to keep their homes and more focus needs to be put on those people who cant make a start and the ones who do make a start but lose their homes.. getting to the source of the problem, it isnt a select few who fit this category anymore, its a great many

  • if a middle class couple cant buy a property anywhere unless its 1 hour away from the city, then yeah, there is a crisis

  • The housing crisis in Australia is so pronounced now that middle class couples cannot buy even modest homes. Its beyond a joke.

  • Clearly doesnt know what hes talkin about and is out of touch OR is being an arrogant bastard and ignoring the fact that 1 million working Australian's are living on the poverty line meaning they can not afford to purchase a home not to mention those losing their homes which in turn displays his lack of care for those people struggling to stay in the housing market and those trying to make a start.. things must be pretty sweet where he is sitting so yeah as long as he is doing alright...

  • I'm doing alright, so is everyone else i know. And i dont live a flashy area. Care to explain?

  • if you buy a house with your partner and you are both working then its not too bad...that is if your being paid well...

but if one person has to look after the kids then forget it, unless the working partner is earning well above median wage.

  • dvorak18 you are young like me,

So you will be quite happy to spend your whole life repaying a house off, when (if your parents own their own home) it would only have taken them a couple of years to pay it off?
