If you want to BYPASS the PARKING BRAKE to watch DVD while your driving... whoops, I mean when your "testing" the radio on your retail display ;) you will need one of these PARKING BRAKE BYPASS INTERFACES:
Looks great. Question; I have 02 Trailblazer that has on-star. I dont use on-star, but because it has a mic built in, could it be wired to that so I dont have to use the external one you do?
I haven't tried the SD card for video, so I can't comment there. I do know I had issues using a MAC. Seems to only like PC's. I think there is a remote available...I just use the steering wheel controls.
For Chrysler I would recommend an aftermarket harness. PAC makes one. You basically plug it into your factory harness. Then it has pretty clear instructions, hook this wire to that wire on the head unit. That way, if you ever sell the vehicle, you just unhook the harness and plug back in the factory unit. You never cut the factory wiring.
so the wires.(this is like the only reason i dont buy steroeos)how is it set up since the hire harness isnt standardized how do u get everything to connect?
Well after a few months with this head unit I am very pleased. Pros Looks great Sounds great Very customizable Easy to use Cons Special cord needed if you want to do video from your iPod. I don't love the cord out the front. It is nice to charge my iPhone in the car, but its kind of an eyesore. Video from iPhone is not synced with audio, there is a slight lag, DVD's are fine Steering Controls, for some reason my "channel up" sometimes skips 2 stations. Could be a bad program on my end

In theory you should be able to splice into the Onstar mic...but that's if you know where that wire is running.
