He'd support medical marijuana for people who are truly in need of it, and who could obtain it in a reasonable way, from well regulated dispensaries, discreetly. Not the organized criminal enterprise we see today. If you lived in a stable neighborhood on the edge of a bad area, and someone opened up a pot dispensary next door, and all the criminals and their lunacy from that bad area flowed into your once peaceful street, then it truly would, as you say, hit home. To the manor born, aren't you?
Well, well, well burtonian, I guess you know all about it then, hmmm? Oh, do tell us all about it, I'm sure it's frightfully interesting. You have privileged information about John Lennon's drug use? Really? Isn't that interesting. Of course I'm for the truly sick having medical pot. It's keeping it out of the hands of children that worries me, and it would have worried Lennon, too, if he could see what's going on now. You pretentious little shit.
Medical Marijuana? Don't knock it til you need it!! I have glaucoma. I no longer have to use those awful drops that burned my eyes and blurred my vision. Marijuana is all I need for that now. It does have it's place in medicine; and as far as people using it for recreation? SO WHAT!! What harm does it cause you?
See kids, 40 is the age when you become better able to articulate yourself, and despite Lennon's previous adventures with drugs, he sounded clear and lucid here. He was vocal about turning away from drugs, and he certainly looks here a man possessed of his full faculties, and enjoying it. I wonder what Lennon, a man of 70 years today, would think of all this rotten medical marijuana? I think he would be down on it. So sad to lose him, just when he was, yes, starting over.
@hummlyhummly the interview was from 1974, you better do more research about his drug use during those years. also, dont act like you know what dead people would tell kids. would jimi hendrix support medical marijuana? who cares???? its not his choice. i know they were liberal enough to support freedom. power to the people, communist.
@hummlyhummly What?...Of course John would support medical marijuana as well as total legalization. The only thing rotten is the harsh marijuana law's jail time, fines, lawer fees, incriminating urine test, and permanet record stigmatization which causes way more harm to the individual than the marijuana ever did. Nobody knows this until it hits home.
Imagine, even Cosell couldn't find the words but did his best...

As a man I'm not ashamed to say I cried for a week, after this terrible news. One of the worst days of my life.

I would have rather heard the bad news from anyone else than Cosell, as he in his own strange way announced it as a score of some kind.
Get to the point! And that is how I heard it back then as I was watching that game, and I was a Beatles fan from my single digit ages.

I was setting up at a gig when I heard Howard Cosell announce Lennon's murder. I was stunned. Things haven't been the same since.
