i dont mean to break the ice but the design in the URL came out AFTER this one just look at the upload date by the way the design has been out for years plus im not gon lie but its more likely that he copied off of this one but not in a bad way, in a good way whatch the vid and you'll see what i mean come on this dude has blasters on his and not jus one punk ass one i mean different variations that you can snap on and it is way cool!

  • @FacebookUser37207 when i first bought this i thought I was supporting JMEmantzels until I later learned from comments that it had no connection to his.

I really do want to review his, it looks a lot stronger and the battle systems look great.

  • That young man you said you saw the same design on got ripped off by this toy company. They stole his schematics...

  • I hooked up my brothers hex bug with a 7.5volt battery and it still works amazingly, had to put shoes on it so it gets traction so funny.

  • You cant beat the Nano. We put LIGHTS on ours. Plse check out our videos

  • your hexbug spider is rarely fast

  • mine isnt walking it takes one step stops and makes a weird noise any advise

  • @batman205ify sounds like a gear is slipping, you may have to open it up and see which one it is.

  • @taoistflyer If this bug where 2 have 2 modes, a Sensor mode like the new larva bug and remote control. Then i and a lot of others would buy this!

  • I hate one thing, that i am from Bulgaria and this HEXBUG isn't found in our shops and it's just too expensive to buy it from the internet and also i dont have a credit card. This is pissing me off :(

  • It would be even cooler If it could climb up Walls

  • @RFilmsForLife It would be cool but Gene Simmons might send them after us and only Tom Selleck could save us.

    Sorry obscure 80s reference.

  • Holy crap that walks so fast! Wise upgrade!

  • sex legged

  • uuuum

  • Get out of the way, batteries!

  • u get 8 button cells from 1 A23.

  • the button cell batteries can be found in A23 batteries, just pry it open and there you go.

  • @ermineking88 Good suggestion.

  • battery life doesnt bother me I want longer range

  • @MPSecare you'd need either a radio receiver and transmitter but the controls are simple enough for you to put one in, otherwise you'd need to boost your infra red signal with additional IR lights.

  • Or a AAA batterie

  • Would it work if I modified it to work on a duracell AA batterie?

  • @Den2467 It will work, but you will need 3 of them to get the proper voltage.

those tiny button cell batteries have the same voltage as double A and triple A batteries but they don't last as long. they have a lower mAh rating.

  • How do you controll it? Is it remote controll?

  • @Changchey yep remote control.

  • How many batteries come with the spider?

  • @Den2467 Mine only came with one set:(

  • i added ruber feet to mine and two recharble batteries also

  • @warnerbricks111 I'm glad I'm not the only one who put a re chargeable battery on it.

  • i added ruber feet to mine and two recharble batteries

  • Can you put a little camera at the top too?! That would be even more awesome!

  • @o0WurmKaiser0o I have dun that, I put a little 808 keychain camera on one and it worked pretty well since it can pan around 360

it was a little shaky and slow when it was walking though.

It had no trouble carrying it though.

  • When this come's to Europe!!

    Becose I'want that!!

  • @thedbznp Do a Google search for hexbug spider then click on the shopping button to filter the search to show people selling it, then click on the "in stock near by" box. If their is anyone close to you selling it with an online site it will show up, you can also set it up to alert you as soon as such a result appears, google is an amazing tool.

  • @taoistflyer You're right about that google is amazing tool.

  • This is like 007 shit I want one!!!!!!

  • army men vs. hexbug spider :3

  • pple undersestimate hexbug products

  • wow in canada hexbug spiders cost 29:99 plus tax

  • @PurdyTV ouch

  • @taoistflyer i know :-(

  • @PurdyTV It's a 3.7 volt rechargeable battery that i use instead of the little button cell batteries.

I put some wires on the battery terminals in the robot and i strung them through the top of the head. the battery just slides in and touches the 2 leads. It works great. It needs to be at least a 3.7 volt battery though.

  • why do you talk like your bored in all your vids?

  • where can i get one of those 3.7 volt battery and charger and about how much would that cost

  • @link4ever7 type in 3.7 volt lipo into a google search and you'll see an e flight 150 mAH 3.7 volt battery for sale for anywhere from 5 to 15 dollars. on the same page you should see an e flight one cell battery charger for abut 15 bucks as well.

  • @taoistflyer thanks a lot really appreciate it

  • @taoistflyer what is tht thing on his head? does it come with every one because mine didnt come with it....

  • @taoistflyer How oddly convenient. I just realized my broken mini-helicopter has the right lipo battery.

  • @zimtower It would probably work, just make sure you have a charging solution.

You may be able to pull out the battery and leave it attached to the chip so you can charge it just solder some leads on to it to connect it to the hexbug.

  • spiders have eight legs

  • I skipped through three parts of this video and every single time you were saying "uh"

  • /watch?v=_6qpSOjtB2E

  • This was walking on my keyboard and is light enough it didnt press down the keys.

  • if you follow JMEmantzel's videos you will see that he is putting together a kit so you can build your own mechanical spider! so check out his website at Jamius.com if your interested! :D also he's doing a raffle for one that he has already assembled! donate to the giant robot fund to enter! Jaimie is the man and deserves a shout out for the world having this tid bit o cool! (even if it is a cheep knock off...)

  • @demolaylaurence I'll definitely get involved, i really like his tank design and i would love to review it.

  • holy shit! That thing is AWESOME!!!! Talk about action! Total excitement! Shit, I gotta stop watching the thing walk around before I shit myself.

  • What a peice of crap!

  • Reminds me of The Incredibles .

  • This is indeed based on Jaimie Mantzel's design ,

as he mentioned in one of his newer videos this was basically a cheap knockoff ,

the legs definitely doesn't move as smooth.

He's currently working for another toy company and is thus not very happy that they used his design in such a crappy way. So he's working on a new design.

  • @robotwo I'm not surprised, maybe his version will have a rechargeable battery, as soon as i see it ill pick one up.

  • hmm aa how old are you???? its time to grow up....

  • Okay, but how is it with weapons? Can you destroy anything big? [ahem]

Thanks for putting this one up. It's phun to see something other than aircraft occasionally.

  • @SomeUselessGeek it really needs a battle system with spring loaded pop off components to simulate damage. sort of like what interactive toy concepts is doing later this year with their medal of honer rc line.

  • @taoistflyer I was sorta attempting "humor," but R/C toy combat wouldn't be so bad. I did like those little micro helis with the spring-loaded "missiles" that you reviewed a while back.

  • that things badass

  • Hey man, lovin' the vids. This little toy you've got here is pretty cool. I cant wait to see whats in store in the future. All of your vids seem to catch my eye in some way.

  • @2br00tal216 thanks for watching, we appreciate your support, hopefully I'll have more mods for this thing in the future.

  • Well that looks great for chasing the cat <? or freaking it out {+_+}

  • You are one chilled dude..:) I like you :):)

  • Hey Dude.Ilike the vids with you and your girlfriend..Bring 'em back :)

  • im 99.9999% sure this is a copy of JMEmantzels spider tank he is working on with a toy company in china. They were interested and wanted to build his idea but somehow some other company copied it and made it really quick and didnt make it very well. Jaimie is really awesome and building a giant robot version which is just about done.

PLEASE support him too! If this is the copy it is his invention and he got relaly disappointed by this one. His better awesome one will be coming out soon!!!!!

  • @Wilzaza that's exactly what i was thinking, ever since i saw his video a few months ago i have been expecting it to be on store shelves, but he was pretty openly posting the idea so it's not to far fetched to think that it inspired or was copied by hexbug

  • @Wilzaza the problem that he didn't believe in corporation he wanted a life in the forest, and was talking about it for 4 years, he lost it cause he wanted a hippie life.

  • @scancool No he didnt, He started developing it with a toy company then it somehow got stolen and made into this and released before they finished their one. He also just got a laser cutter and is going to print out kits that you can make on your own.

  • My dog would go crazy over that thing.

  • you could just extend some wires and use a AA bat

  • @shoopwhoopX

You would need at least 3 AA batteries

AA batteries are 1.5 volts and around 2200 mAH

the button cell batteries are also 1.5 volts but have a much lower mAH rating

the 3 button cells equal 4.5 volts when arranged in sequence

each motor probably needs at least 1.5 volts

and the IR receiver probably needs 1.5 volts so one AA battery wouldn't have the voltage

I think the batteries mAH rating is a time reference.

So a 2200 mAH battery can deliver 2200 mAH for one hour before draining.
