BTW, this song was originally by Tom Petty. TP and the Heartbreakers were Johnny Cash' studio band on one of his albums and after they finished the album, he recorded the cover of "I Won't Back Down".

I prefer playing the first four notes as E-G-C-A though.

(And Tom Petty/Jeff Lynne wrote the song, Johnny Cash just made a cover of it, but I prefer the Johnny Cash version, the intro sounds better on acoustic guitar)

Try out this version - I'm sure youll make a gr8 version out of this one also on your acoustic guitar. On gigs I usually use my 12 string Yamaha on this one.
