It begun after WW2, when some czech pilots were burned and belonge/d to the Guinea pig club, czech doctors continued taking care and learning from british doctors. Those guys contributed a lot to the plastic surgery and facial reconstructions.Also Dr. Bohdan Pomahac has led the first full facial transplant in US.

You can get a cosmetic surgery double or even triple expensive in NYC than other smalls cities in the USA. What I wrote was, I said you can get standard of the world care here in the US you just have to pay four times the going rate of the rest of the world-- I also said that the fail rate for Brazil or Malaysia or India or Thailand is low, as low as the highest paid British or US docs.
What's the rule--Stay away from S America and stick to India and procedures that are tried and true. Doctors in the US charge 4X the rest of the world, and you CAN get care that is good as the "standard of the world" in the US. The horror stories and boogymen depicted here are real, but the incidence if you check carefully is low.
So if she had a tummy tuck, why was the doctor examining her tummy down? Was it a 180 degree tuck? Or perhaps a reverse tuck with half twist and pike ?

Not that I have had an surgery done but an acquaintance of mine had a tummy tuck done because of the skin stretching from pregnancy. She was a medium framed woman and was blessed with twins. Unfotunatly her skin stretched out and hung in a fold. She is a healthy woman, exercises and takes care of herself. It's not always because of weight. She didn't want the surgery but because the skin just hung there and chaffed she got several skin infections and one was actually very dangerous.
so, please LTand DS.... don't automatically assume that everyone that has this surgery, is a fat pig. Now for those that are overweight and just have it to take some pounds off... No sympathy for you. Being lazy is what you are. This surgical procedure is not for losing weight.
A very close friend of me was very sick of an eye. He was on the USA. He was loosing his eye and doctors wantes to take it off from him. He went to Mexico and they saved his eye. He's very well, now. Bad surgerys can happend anywhere!!!

I work in Bal Harbour and I have heard awesome things about his work and seen results. Dr. Salzhauer is probably one of the best surgeons in the country
