My earliest memory of this song was from 1980....I was a senior in high school, and heard it on an oldies show...couldn't get enough since! Wore out many copies in 30 years (those I could GET..) but now have it on everlasting mp3 and CD.
Song was the best. I was twelve when I first heard this-it came out on 45. That was THE YEAR! Out of grammar school, into JUNIOR HIGH! So cool was that!
Wonderful memories; something was changing inside of me and I couldn't figure it out-until the first time I kissed a girl-and she dumped her tongue down my throat! WOW!
The Videos' Clarence Bassett was an alumnus of the Five Sharps, who recorded one of the most sought-after singles in all of recorded history, "Stormy Weather" on the Jubilee label. That makes for a pretty impressive overall legacy!
@MikeBlitzMag this was on 78rpm right...i have a 1948 ami jukebox with a bunch of 78s and alot of boxes..i searched high and low thru the boxes and jukebox but unfortunately didnt have a copy..figured i didnt
According to a buddy of mine from Staten Island, it was considered cool to wear a three-button jacket with only the bottom button buttoned, which is where the term "one button low" originated. Anyone out there remember this style?

The Videos consisted of Ronald causey, Clarence Bassett, Johnny Jackson, Charles Basketville and RonWoodhall from Queens, NY. They earned their recording session by winning 1st prize at an Apollo theatre amateur night. Despite being considered a classic today it didn't reach the charts in 1958 when released, probably because they lacked good distribution. Before they could record again two of the members died and the group was history. Notes from the "DOO WOP Box"
come on come on it's the heartbeats who later sang with the greatest singer of all time....you know it ....you know it....james "shep" and the limelights/the heartbeats.....your a" thousand miles away "/'daddy's home".....come on...come on...
Did u guys ever hear the song...Dribble, Dribble...was released when the Chicago Bulls won their Championships. Can someone one please put that song on YouTube.

@smemr Bassett and Baskerville were later in Shep and the Limelites. I believe some of the other members were in the 5 Sharps.
