Hear the deep tom tom sound of the large tumba ! This is why plastic heads are limited for use on congas. Each drum size has its own thickness re4quirements in natural hide heads, which determines the fundamental note w/ the over tones dampened out . A one thickness plastic head can not do that. The process of volume & EQ balancing congas that are mic'ed is hard enough with out obnoxious tumba tones. Simple remedy is to use thin foam rubber weather stripping tone controls on underside of head

Falta de brillo, de recursos, Poncho nunca ha tenido fuego en sus congas, no hay velocidad, lucidez, simetria, todas estas cosas son tipicas de los musicos caribeños y algunas excepciones de suramerica.

Mis respetos a Poncho por su orquesta, solo por su orquesta, por que si es por el solo, como músico, nunca hubiese llegado ni a la mitad de donde esta.

@Joe0567 Creo que estas muy equivocado y por lo visto nunca has interpretado un instrumento de percusión, comienza con la clave y después de unos cuantos años puedes pasar a las congas después de haber estudiado la técnica, poncho Sanchez es considerado como una de las escuelas de percusión moderna.

Amigo pudiera responderle algunas cosas, pero veo que usted esta fuera de alcance en la comprensión de lo que expongo.

¿Que quiere que le diga, que tengo X cantidad de años tocando percusión latina? ¿De que le serviría eso si usted no comprende el sentido de mi punto de vista?.

Mas allá de la técnica que se usa, cuando se toca, se TRANSMITE lo que se siente.

Al tocar Poncho Sanchez transmite "EL DEBER SER".

Un Conguero de Corazón transmitiría "EL SER".

Mexican parties are as diverse as Mexican people is. 'Fiesta para todos'. Musicians in Mexican parties play all musical genres with a variety of musical instruments; Mexican parties with Mariachi wearing big hats are the best although we Mexicans love 'música guapachosa 'también. Poncho Sánchez is a talented Mexican-American percussionist who play awesomely Las Congas with a peculiar Los Angeles salsa flavor. Simón!

This band has such character and a hard groove Poncho Sanchez is a amazing performer and musician .I love everyone in the band but im not impressed with Francisco torres on trombone .He sounds really boring and not very skilled .

Ive seen the band many many times. poncho is a true legend.Francisco torres has a ugly tone on trombone .Alex henderson is such a better trombone player in every way .Me and all my friends think francisco is way overrated . compared to bob mc chesney , andy martin or any of the top trombone players he is such a joke .

I just got back from El Salvador today and I would like some help finding a song I heard while I was there. It's a club song and all I could make out was "y sequir junto a ti..." and in the chorus he says "hey nanana, hey nanana hey". I'm sorry but this is all I could make out. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.
