  • ha, it's classic to watch a team of cherries go out and they can't hit the side of a barn; it takes a while to get a good squad going

  • it's amazing how clunky the weapon loadout screen was; you had to micro-manage for every one of your players, including putting grenades in their hands; no pc intuition here

  • ah, how many nights did i spend playing this game of games - x-com 4ever

  • @nefasest

Are you buying the remake made by6 firaxis ?

  • @DarkMandrill ; i'll wait and see; i have a bad feeling about it; xcom was an awesome pc game; i trust pc's for deep, tactical games like this where a keyboard and mouse are perfect for controlling the action; i let consoles do the work when it comes to FPS and other shooter-type games like resident evil

  • those aren't aliens attacking the earth... those are 0bamabots/liberals lead by their Marxist leader 0bama. he wants to spread communism all across the planet which will ruin it

and force all the inhabitants to have gay sex with arab children

  • New x-com game coming out...

  • can I play this game on the ps3?

  • Really is a shame ps mouse would not work on this. As the mouse was released well after this game for doom2 on ps.

I really cant remeber if it worked with "terror from the deep" but I think not....

  • great video i have been looking for a ps1 playthrough of this for so long i am trying to look for a walkthrough cause i suck at this game

  • Comment removed

  • I remember later in the game being really shocked when one of my guys got mind controlled as we were exiting the ship and he used a grenade inside the hold *sigh* GREAT GAME!

  • i wonder how it's going to be played on psp :]

  • Might wanna format those memory cards uh?

  • hey any 1 know what site i can down load this game at? thanks

  • Holy crap the game was already godlike on steam, but on the psx1 with the better music its even scarrier damn

  • i notice the sound is way different than dosbox version on steam, i know of the xcom utility that you can change sounds but music or quality was not as good as PSX version

  • Great thing about this game I can now play on my PS3- 60GB backward compatible...

i also have Terror from the deep

  • excelent work ! Ps1 version= PC version (or better)

  • The psx version was better than the PC in terms of graphics and music. The cons were the insane loading times. Saving the game on the memory card required as many as 10 slots. If anyone remembers, the psx memory cards had a max of 15 slots. There were one or two extra ufo's to explore. Plus there were terrain that wasn't available on the pc version. Because the gameplay was slower, every move counted much more on the psx version.

  • @Smegma007 hmmm the moves are almost too slow on pc for me (lvl2 on terrain moves double slow for me)... having this on psp would be really cool though.

  • On my Top 10 list for sure. I spent hours playing this... stoned. Good times.

  • @Smegma007 aw i suck. thumbs you down on accident trying to reply. someone fix that pls. Im about to blaze up and play this. So excited!

  • I actually kinda prefer this to the original I'm familiar with...

  • @Elazul0500 I AGREE, there is definitely some unfinished business with this game!

  • i loved this got damn game. my shit was always fucking up. it was even creepy to me...those damn fuckers hide in places you can't see...then all of a sudden you see this HUGE GARGANTUAN disappear around a corner. then you're like shit...all i have are these level on lasers.

...and you know your ass is not going to make it make on board because half your crew is going mad or mind controlled.

    i loved it!

  • Wow...this version has more music, higher quality music, more sounds, higher quality sounds...so this is an emulated version? Count me interested.

  • mission complete, lets roll a joint at 9:01

  • This game is in my personal top 10 list. And i've been playing videogames for 25 years, on pc and consoles as well.

This game is greatly overlooked. It deserves a golden spot near more commonly recognized classics like FFVII, Zelda OOT, Super Mario 3, Monkey Island, Kotor and the likes.

  • ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN GET THE MOUSE TO WORK!? i cant click anything :( only can do x o triangle square, the arrows analog and Ls Rs... can anyone help me get the mouse working?

  • When i was little, i always thought that this is a really scary game

  • I like this version best

  • I'm playing this on PC but it's frustrating because when I'm playing a mission the scroll speed is way too fast. Even when I change the scroll speed in the options it doesn't slow it down. It's killing the game for me.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

  • @VampolkaXL There are in-game options to lower the scroll speed, if that doesn't help, and it probably won't. Play the game using DOSBox. You can also buy it on Steam to save yourself the trouble of setting up the emulator yourself.

  • @VampolkaXL

If you are playing on dosbox, which you probably are, reduce the cpu cycles to dosbox. Ctrl+F11 in game.

  • @VampolkaXL

hey, yeah the same exact thing happened to me, i tried to change it in the options but it was still extremely fast, i own it on both systems, PC and Playstation, Playstation is definitly wayyy more fun, but yeah, i just un-installed the game and re-installed it, and it magically would change scroll speeds again, so i guess if you're willing to give up your data for a different scroll speed, go for it haha, if you dnt wanna take that chance, then i suppose try and get used to it hah

  • @VampolkaXL

or yeah you can also try to play the game using DOSbox

  • I played various versions of this game and i still say the PS One version is the best port.

  • This looks sooo complicated. I'm sure it isn't once you get the hang of it but this is one of those games I wouldn't even bother showing non-gamer friends. It looks too hardcore.

  • It looks complicated on the PSX, actually it's much easier on the PC

  • Playing this game on PSX looks tricky, mostly cuz of the award way of navigating through menus..

  • Beginner difficulty?.... *sigh, yawn*

  • God i fucken love this game! I still play it to this day. You know just an FYI for everyone you can get this game steam. Its not much.

  • I remember that I bought this game when I was 14; would waste a completly good day playing this game. One second it was light outside...then BOOM: its night! I also remember that at certain times if I was playing this game in the dark I would actually get chills...haha

  • lol Nick Jones

  • I have been playing this game since 1996. It truly is the best game ever!

  • this game have fucking long loading times

  • It's incredibly annoying watching you in combat because you don't click the little glowing red number which will zoom you directly to an alien.

That said, I love your nick, haha.

  • I think, graphic is much better than PC version, whay???

  • @sebcio

Because the Playstatin had superior hardware than to what the game used to run on for the PC back in 1994 so they upped the GFX a little.

  • @MindstormXL Well the minimum requirements to run X-COM was a 386 processor.... I think a PS1 would be just a bit faster, lol.

  • I play x-com since im 14 ,now im 27. Its the best game ever made .The Ps1 version is awsome in compairing with the dos, amiga and CD32 version ,just the loading time is so lame . i never found good working emulator for pc ,i wish there is ,maybe some one know one? i have the game original but disc looks like an iceskatingplace.

About playing ,buy only automatic gun with explosiv ammo and normal ammo for indoor! and throw granades to other soilder ,and pick up and trow again -save timeunits ...

  • use emulator epsxe 1.7

  • muchas gracias por la ayuda la verdad es que no compraba armas y por eso no los podia derribar

  • I played the Game called in Europe "UFO: Enemy Unknown" from 1993 till TODAY! Its the same and was published first on Amiga with two different titles. "UFO: Enemy Unknown" and "X-COM: UFO Defense". Thats one of my ALLTIME favorite games and I played through it more than a round dozen time till now ...

  • yes because " enemy unknown" is for europe and "ufo defence" was in the usa.

  • yes, thats what I said above

  • why do they do that

  • wow, its 1:1 ported.

  • @Prize5 this was one of the first psx games I got back in the day and I loved it. it was really scary playing it as a kid with the music that created great ambience. for once the console version of a pc game was almost better. the only thing that wasnt better was having to use a controller since mouse control with this game makes it infinitely quicker/easier

  • @casedistorted im not 100% sure but there was a official mouse, did it not work with this game?

  • @Prize5 Yes this game did work with the official PS1 mouse, I'm playing it as I type this.

  • Dude, you formated your memory card. You deleted every save on there.!!!!!

  • hes playing on an emulator it doesnt matter
