Agreed on that. But again the B52 is a strategic bomber, designed for an entirely different mission envelope. So I am really reluctant to compare the B52 to Eve. Makes little sense for many reasons...which I am sure u know.

The problem I have is simply the guy is saying something that is a flat out lie. X-15 and Pegasus were doing what White Knight will be doing LONG before now. The X-15 logged 199 flights. Pegasus has put many satellites into orbit from both the B-52 and L-1011. Not exactly a minor error.

Two things about the X15: Ii cannot carry passangers....and if it would, nobody could afford the ride. 

Don't get me started on the Pegasus...its a space booster vehicle. Again, not comparable. Besides, Burt Rutan should know that one pretty well, he designed the wing for it.

As for your opinion on the X-15 and Pegasus, your opinion doesn't change the facts champ. White Knight 2 (or 1 for that matter) is NOT the first aircraft to launch a space vehicle. Period.  Comprende?

The real issue is the fact that WK2 was built solely for the purpose of airluanching SS@. The B52s which were used to launch the X15s, and the 747s which were used for both the Shuttle glide tests and to ferry the Shuttle from California back to Florida were conversion jobs. And by that rationale, they really don't count as being the first airlaunchers for suborbital spacecraft.
