I think I saw the Green Man movie 10 times, that closing 3 line monologue really put the story in perspective. And the way they pulled the twist at the end, (SPOILERS) his lost father, Blue Man, showing up to give him the confidence to finish climbing the hill, really made it worth it. (END SPOILERS). It really did the books justice, I just hope they keep it up with a worthy sequel.

I much prefered the first few books, I think Mitchell lost a bit on the storytelling after fame got into his head. Much like Green Man himself, he used to just wave and walk across hills, but by christmas he got himself a red house, now a fence and a blue cat? its getting too complicated.

Sure, it's not the light and happy storytelling of the earlier books, BUT we can now find deeper and more philosophical tendencies in Mitchells work. More fundamental questions are asked, the persona Green Man is looked upon from various angles and the reader will travel in far more complex and, I dare say, poetical aspects of his life. Complicated maybe. But isn't life itself complicated?

I just finished "Green Man eats banana". In my opinion it was an incredibly compelling story with a plot that makes it a real page turner. One of the best in the series. Let's just hope that the movie is as good as the book.
