I think the reason it didn't go higher on the pop chart is the times there was disco and rock like B.T.O. on the charts it should have went higher on the country charts but I believe R.C. A. was not doing a proper promotion job at the time
Hi Jackiej61too, thanks for replying! do you know if Elvis ever recorded the Spanish song "Bésame Mucho"? in youtube I found a version that says so, I want to be sure... Thaks again for all your great job, please receive a warm hug!, Evelyn :D
Jackie, where do you get all this accurate and interesting information about the King?? Thanks for all you do for the fans of Elvis; really a great job!
@EvelynArtuz Thank you Evelyn! The source I use for most of the info is Elvis: His Life from A to Z written by Fred L. Worth and Steve D. Tamerius. As far as where the songs are available, I list the original release and then whatever CD I own that has the song on it. The songs are probably available on other CDs too, but I only what I actually own. ELVIS FOREVER
This is such an absolutely electrifying, phenomenal, unique, fun, catchy, energetic, groovy and stellar song and Elvis easily has the very best renditions of it. This song should have definitely been a major hit for Elvis here in the USA, but it never was an actual hit for Elvis on the charts here in the USA at all. Elvis will definitely always be #1 in music and entertainment. I loved this entire video immensely, 10 Stars.
Written by Jerry Chesnut. Elvis recorded it March 12, 1975 at RCAs Nashville Studios. The single release had a nine-week stay on Billboards Hot 100 chart, peaking at #35. It reached #11 on the country chart. It was the A-side to Mr. Songman. This is alternate take 1 and it is available on A 6363 Sunset Blvd., the FTD Today CD, and Legendary Performer, Vol. 14, which is where this version is from.
Cool first take. I love the master, but this is cool too.

The king.

Should've been a number one hit on all three singles charts. Politics kept it from doing so. Billboard protecting the Beatles again.

@donn409 Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so.
