@braman72 hey , nice paintjob, it takes a hell of alot of horse power, alot more than 650 to make a flatty screw boat go over 90mph. you get up around 8-900 hp, then you might edge over the 100 mark. jets are more efficient with lower horse power like my 600 horse big block in a very fast hull. I've waved by-by to many a flatbottom vdrives with my squirt boat. tow that beauty out to the west coast , and I'll be glad to show you what I'm talkin about.

I will agree with you that he wasn't going that fast, but he wasn't throttling that boat to it's max and he wasn't staying in it very long. Could have been due to conditions (he seemed to be constantly slowing down for wakes), or he was going easy on his passenger. Just a thought!!

To the guys that are saying that its only a 90 mph boat your wrong. my boat has a 408 (BBC), 12.5 to 1compression (yes its on race fuel), heads worked etc... its is a true flatbottom it was originally raced as a K class circle boat. its runs between 90 and 95 depending on the water. this guy is capable of running in the low 100s. and for the jet boat guys ive never lost to a jet boat with a comparable motor.

Well the big pedal is so your foot doesn't slip off of it. The other two pedals control the cavitation plates on the very back end of the boat. When you push them down, they push the front of the boat more into the water, giving it more drag and control. And at these speeds they essentially are brakes.
