If you have ever taken any type of vertical ventilation course you would know why it's important to use a "roof ladder". It is good practice no matter what the pitch or what you think the conditions are inside. That's how ff die. You always operate the same way even if it is overkill....safe.
Did you ever think that a roof ladder might also save you if the roof gives way, spanning the gap of a hole? And did you ever think this might be an SOP for the Dept.? A smart one at that... But no you didn't think that because you're stuck to your chair looking at youtube and thinking you're a tough fireman commenting on someone being safe. Sorry for being too safe, hope you don't die either.

what are they doing? you dont need ladders on that roof its like a 4/12 pitch you can walk on that with ease
