  • One of my favorite songs but i can't stand the production, it's too LOUD for this type of songs. It worked with Last Call but not here

  • orgasmic

  • I think this album is kinda like "daisy" for brand new fans. Most people hate it for how "different" it sounds compared to earlier albums, but the truly astute will recognize how far the band has come musically and lyrically since full collapse or waiting

  • I don't get all the hate for this album. I think it is amazing. Tears me up inside every time, in a good way

  • the synth is too loud on all new thursday music

  • @stripesthebird

Agreed. I've hated the production on the past 2 albums and apparently they're using Fridmann again for the upcoming one so I'm a bit cautious.

  • @psychopomp88

I generally dislike synthesizer in punk music. It seems to take over the mix.

That said, I liked Andrew's playing on parts of CIty by the Light Divided, i.e. Counting, Running from the Rain, and Autumn Leaves Revisited, but those are more prog than punk.

  • "Everyone we love.." 2:41 ='[

  • can't stop listening to this shit!

  • This album is so unique and different, it's amazing to see how far they've come since waiting and full collapse. I remember rocking out to porcelain and ian curtis when I was like 12, I feel like I've been taking this journey with them while they change with the times. They are the most inspirational band to me. They've been there at times in my life when I didn't think I had anything else. Probably saved my life, honestly.<3 Thursday fan for life!

  • if you like this song or any thursday songs for that matter...check out my cover for Beyond the Visible Spectrum...thanks

  • it owns man

  • adding "&fmt=18" to the end of the URL seems to help a tiny bit

  • Full Collapse was good, and I wish I could hear this CD with regular quality

  • Thursday is good because they don't write songs to fit a certain genre or sound every album is good in their own ways in this album they used more effects pedals and new technology. music has always evolved with technology. playing with new effects that come out is fun and gives you something new to work with. any good musician would know that music is about creating something new every time you record not repeating whats already been done.

  • Best Song on the CD, when the echos kick, damn it sends shivers every time

  • the production isnt overdone, its just different. they were going for a different feeling.

  • too all the new thursday fans. theres nothing like hearing them for the first time. i remember how blown away i was. i really think they could be one of the greatest bands to have ever existed. so versatile and creative.

  • I FUCKING HATE THIS PRODUCTION!!!!!!!! its too overdone if you know what i mean. older thursday was more raw. i just want that fucking sound back im sick of this shit. im sure this song is great and if it was recorded with their old producer would sound awesome. im sorry. i know its annoying that people keep bitching about this but its true.

  • Why doesn't people understand that full collapse was shit compared to their new sound. It's not overdone, it's just pushing your creativity to creat good music.

  • Never call Full Collapse shit dude, that album was epic. Common Existence is great, but i can see how people say its overdone. But thursday has been exploring new things with every album and thats what makes them such a great band, and i love it ALL

  • Full Collapse is actually my least favorite Thursday cd. I thought it started strong, ended weakly. But I agree all their albums have been candy for the ears.

  • @Hellboyo1982 nah, fullcollapse really is a brilliant album throughout. when people describe it as being a landmark, influential post-hardcore album, they're not wrong.

  • i agree. all i know is i dont like this album as much. this is the only song on the new album i truly like

  • @cannibalcorpseowns a raw, lo-fi sound on this album would surely ruin the effect they're trying to create here. They've moved into dreamier, huger-sounding territory, away from the earlier punky sounds of before. fullcollapse is awesome, but they've expanded from there without completely abandoning it and I think this type of production is required. Then again, if it was possible to make these songs with their original sound that would be genius, but I dunno if that would really work.

  • listen to each of their albums in thier entirety, waiting, full collapse, war all of the time,a city by the light divided i was absolutly ot dissapointed by any, they are truly amazing and life changing, thursday is love

  • Full Colapse and Common Existence are my favourite thursday albuns just brutal

  • by the way, anybody have recommendations of any more of their music?

  • If you like Common Existence, A City By The Light Divided might be a good first choice, considering it was mixed by the same producer so they have a similar sort of sound (although CE is ultimately harder-sounding).

But you definitely can't go wrong with Full Collapse or War All The Time either, and then there's their debut Waiting which is worth checking out at some point.

Full Collapse is their defining album in a sense, and most fans' favourite, but see for youself. It's all good, though...

  • whoa O.O

    thank you so much

  • Every one of thier albums man. My favorites are Full Collapse and War all the time.

  • *mind blown away*

I first heard this song courtesy of Rock Sound and I just couldn't get it out of my head.

hmm...I've never really listened to much of Thursday's music before, but I have the feeling that I'm just going to *have* to get this new album.

  • call thursday emo all you want...true fans know better

  • Very different then the old Thursday but this album just fucking rules!! XD

  • yea jswee,I love thursday because thier music has meanign not those shitty trend bands like paramore, jonas brother and miley cyrus

  • How does Paramore fit with thoose two.. Jones brothers and miley cyrus are Disney channel whores..

  • woow paramore is totally not a trend band or have any relation to jonas brothers and miley cyrus ,

  • Sick song..Thursday has come a long way.

  • This is my fav song off there album

  • same

  • That's kind of the opposite of going against the grain. All the emo fans with bad taste hate this album because you need to listen to a wide variety of stuff to like it.

  • haha im not emo bro i just dont like the album as much

  • Wow, genius lyrics, genius sampling of violins, just straight genius. reminds me of why i fell in love with this band way back when emo wasn't a word, record stores were still in business, and the jonas brothers were still in grammar school.. ahh the good old days r.i.p.

  • love this song to death:)

  • best song on CD

  • Comment removed

  • yea that full minute of complete silence is epic alright.

  • This IS the Best song on the album.

  • My favorite sound from common existence, the final part is so ...beauty

  • Exact reason why i searched for this song on youtube. I need to hear the ending that made such an impression on me :)

  • Pretty good. So far, i think the bass stands out the most to me. Well placed simplicity.

  • the intro to this song is amazing. as well as the song =D

  • yeah I love the intro too. This is one of my favorite songs from Common Existence

  • ha it is my favorite on common existence =D

  • Yeah this is a really good song, although the whole album is good.
