i live in Australia and i hate toads. We have them everywhere in summer when it rains. I have a phobia. I just typed in cane toads because i was incredibly curious about what would come up and i couldnt even watch this. My eyes welled up and i was shaking. BY A VIDEO THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went outside a minute ago and saw a huge cane toad on ma lawn, he had real pretty colours on his back and he let me pick him up. They are really soft to touch, he just sat in ma hand without me having to restrain it, but eventually it got bored of me and jumped away...

hmm. If your going to keep them. Id say put a subtropical set up. BUT make sure the soil is like completely dry. And put a large water dish with two hiding places, a heat lamp, uvb lighting, etc.

Can they really shoot that poison out? I pick up 6 of them today from the back, and they didn't do anything except for kick. I thought you had to squeeze the glands for it to shoot out. Please help me, because I'm going back to the Nature Center tommorrow to take pictures to post on facebook. I don't want to get that stuff in my eyes.

ehh. they can shoot poison. but mainly if they are ubberly threatened. If they are standing on their legs. DO NOT come near it just back away. Treat it like a skunk. If its standing tall back off.
