The US may have come in late - ditto USSR but then gave increasingly massive material support to all fronts. Newly opened Soviet archives after its fall in 1991 showed that as much as 40% of Soviet arms & materiel was US-supplied, including 10,000 supply trucks. Not blood I know, the Soviets paid that themselves.

@calibre9mm Not really. The German created the first paratroopers but it never saw any serious air dropping like the US&UK. Blitzkrieg isn't new. Generals had use them in Medieval times with cavalry. Example is Genghis Khan with his cavalry conquer Northern China in couple of months (fastest movement in Medieval time). Not mentioning ruling the biggest Empire in the world. As well as being the few that conquer most of Russia. Viking, Mongolians, and then the Tartars (before Khan and then after).

Look up Joseph Swan for the first light bulb. Germans had the first modern rocket. There were revolvers around as early as the 1600s. The Puckle gun was probably the 1st machine gun but you did say parctical so I will give you that. The first telegraph was NOT American.

As to jet engines the first was built by a British man called Sir Frank Whittle. It was much superior to the German jet engines. Britain GAVE all it's jet engine research to the USA. American and Russian companies are still producing jet engines made to original Rolls Royce and Whittle designs.

Please look up Tube Alloys. Britain came to realise quite early on that an atom bomb was possible. The hard part was enriching the uranium. The British company ICI along with Chadwick developed the whole enrichment process which is what made nuclear bombs possible.

I am NOT saying the American contribution wasn't incredible but I am positive that we would have developed the bomb on our own if the Yanks hadn't entered the war.

no Thomas Edison invented the first practical light bulb, US invented the first hand machine gun, US was the main contributor in the atom bomb(Manhattan Project), however there was a european and canadian contiorbution as well! also Germans learned how to advance rocketry through American Robert Goddard who launched the first MODERN rocket in 1926!

Wehner Von Brauhn the Nazi scientist advanced his designs through American Robert Goddard "the father of modern rocketry" but you still have to give von brauhn credit for advancement. The A-Bomb was an americn led project by Leslie Groves and Robert Oppeinheimer, there was some international support but it was an american led project. There was a lot more to the saturn project than just von brauhn and vin brauhn was an american citizen at the time, a lot of americans worked on the program

Beg to differ on the Abomb part. Abomb was a work of American and German scientists who have fled Germany when the Nazi took over. Notable German scientist was Albert Einstein.

Only notable Nazi scientist would be Wernher von Braun, the architect of V-2 rockets later went to United States to work on the Saturn Rocket in the 1950s.

As for protracted Nazi and USSR cooperation, you sure as hell dont know Hitler and Stalin or read more about them. Expanding east is one of HItler's major goal.

True is that Americans did supplied the Russians with war goods. However you can't deny Russian dogged resistance against Axis advances and their counter offensives which help to tied up about 70% of the German armies in the Eastern Front thus they are making most of the fighting in Europe.

I would like to disagree with that. You should read about how Patton changed American warfare in Europe. He should have been in charge of the invasion in Normandy. There would have been less casualties and the mission would have been completed sooner. Look at his kill to casualty ratio compared to all other allied and axis commanders. Patton was the best general alive during world war II PERIOD! Not to mention the 101st airborne was made of the toughest men in the US military at that time.
