  • @LaSwagga not ass easy as this dude makes him see

  • i cant undertand anithing do you have a buttons tutoreal? i still cant get the option selec thing eather :(

  • I'm sure this doesn't work in AE, or my timing is off probs, whenever i do the TT backdash OS, the guy just back dashes out of my TT

  • I have to master this!!!

  • ryan, are there any option selects after ur opponent blocks a step kick? i seem to have issues with people jumping out of it, i know standing hp is the answer but it's a huge risk against shotos and gief.

  • Great tutorial

  • Nuoh my god. This explains my backdashes constantly being swept and me being thrown when I don't backdash completely. Fuck option selects and fuck sf4 >:O!!!

  • Great video, Ryan. Though I don't understand why people are saying Abel is godlike. He's a very technical character that takes a great deal of skill and good judgement to succeed with. I'm not saying he's trash or anything, but I can't recall a major tourney won by an Abel player. Ryu, Akuma, Adon, Bison... those guys always seem to come out on top.

  • One of, if not THE best option select video's I have ever seen, you really nailed it on this one. keep it up.

  • Abel is so fucking cheeeaaappp.

So many bullshit ways to land TT's and knockdowns. I really need to stop maining rose.

  • @LaSwagga cant wait till you start learning to play him lol, good luck with that.

  • Awesome video! My friend is interested in getting serious with Abel and this information will help him not get screwed over by me simply neutral jumping. I'm rather excited at the prospect of better competition.

  • wow that dash under TT is stupid. i hate shortcuts.

    informative video tho

  • This is stupid and I hate it because it makes me sad, Abel is so godlike =(

    Great tutorial of course.

  • thanks for sharing

  • MY SPLOOGE! IT COVERS THE WALLS!

  • This made me cum everywhere =D

  • Ryan , the last one also works with roll against a jump. If they are neutral jumping or jumping away. I've been using it for a while now.

  • Can you hear that? It's the sound of good music playing behind a fighting game. I've played so much SF4 I kind of forgot what it was like. Thanks for reminding me.

  • Good ish, Ryan. I only wished you would have showed the inputs for entire tutorial.

    -Kye

  • @SSBMSynikaL I actually couldn't show inputs for the rest because all the other shots are Abel as a recording, to show the same recorded inputs multiple times with different outcomes. The inputs are simple though. For the Sweep OSes, it's just c.LK, c.LK+HK, and the other is j.HK, immediate c.HK (the OS), and then t.MK. The Dash OSes are all just c.LK (or c.LP+LK for a crouch tech), immediately input a dash (the OS), and then TT. The same exact inputs that are shown at the end.

  • @OptionSelectDotCom sry if these are stupid questions but i dont get how some of these OS would work. like for c.lk, clk+hk. if the person just blocks and doesnt back dash wouldnt the game read the sweep since its the stronger move and sweep either way?

and for the dash option select for jump in are you entering it in the dash input while abel is in the air?

and how does the dash OS on the ground work?

  • @tuber52 Normally, yes, pressing LK+HK would result in a HK, but the c.LK+HK is inputted with the timing of a chain combo off the first c.LK. Since c.LK doesn't chain into c.HK, the game ignores it and does c.LK instead. For the Dash OS off the j.HP, yes, the Dash is input immediately after pressing j.HP. Like I said in the other comment, the Dash OS on the ground is just c.LK (or c.LP+LK for crouch tech), then immediately input a dash with no delay, and then TT.

  • @OptionSelectDotCom oh so the c. lk or croutch tech you input the dash during the middle of the animation as well? similar to the jump in?

and thanks for all the help, this vid is gonna help me alot

  • @tuber52 Yes, basically, you want to input the dash so that if the c.LK is blocked, you are inputting the dash as your c.LK is hitting, more or less. Any later than that, and you might get the dash even after your c.LK is blocked. There's very little delay. Glad this helps, that's what it's for :). • @OptionSelectDotCom Gotcha. Thanks.

  • Best option select ever or BESTEST option select ever?

  • @Matsute Bestest option-select . com ever.

  • That last option select is delicious!

  • Just what we need. Abel players getting better.

    :D

  • good fucken stuff

  • inputs plz

  • what song is this???

  • SFA3 training theme...Nice.

  • Hm... Didn't think of it as an option select before (still being a beginner and all) but I've accidentally performed that TT->Falling Sky trick after a LK roll under a jumping opponent.

  • @RunRuhn Doing FS after "cross-up" with the TT motion is not an os in itself.

  • @FREEdomxxxZGMFX10A Hm. Terminology confusion on my part, then. Sorry about that.

  • Very good options selects! The dash OS are very usefull, especially when you consider the fact that the opponent can tech it, but risk getting command throwed. Tough you should have mentioned that the cr LP HK->dash OS is dangerous against certain chars like chun (hazanshu) or viper (b kick) or any other char with a short airborne attack cuz chances are that you dash into their attack (or maybe under it making it even better :) ).

  • it is about time someone has a crossunder instead of crossover move.

  • I bet the person who made this doesnt even use Abel anymore. Probably deserted him for Cody or somethin

  • Damn, that sky-fall trick is sexy.

  • do dhalsim

  • I hate Abel...oh and Vega.

  • Dat Abel son so godlike.

  • at 3:10 i literally said aloud, "fuck abel."

keep up the awesome videos :D

  • That ending.... just awesome.

  • so to option select, lets say the c.lk [os c.hk] c.lk you press lk once then lk and hk together?

  • I'm pretty sure it still takes talent and skill to recognize the situations that these can be applied in and how to force your opponents into situations where option selects give you an advantage.

  • @gamesk8er make them fall down? *shrug* similar situation is a reset. thuh end.

  • option selects remove a lot of talent and skill from the competition. reaction speed and descision making are what make a great player.

  • @kiljaedyn haha no.

  • @kiljaedyn LOL. NO.

  • @kiljaedyn

Finding, learning, and using option selects is pretty difficult too. Not to mention remembering all of them in a high pressure situation.

  • @kiljaedyn You still have to choose the right option-select to use, e.g. if you're doing the sweep os when they neutral jump you're gonna eat a big punish.

  • interesting

  • Very informative!

  • too god like i need to get my stick bak from the shop and star my option selects >_<

  • keep them coming.
