  • man u r a great dj and a great teacher too thanx so much

  • props for the carrot chop. good one.

  • top notch again - this guy is brilliant

  • This guy is a great teacher. 10 minutes with him has taught me a good amount.

  • He looks like DeadMau5 ( Joel Zimmerman )

  • I wish this guy was my instructor in my dj class that i just enrolled at...his enthusiasm really makes you work hard and at the same time enjoy while you do it. Keep it up! i'm learning a lot!

  • I have a newb question and I am still saving up to get my first bit of kit.

I noticed you were controlling the vinyls bpm when mixing the 2. Can you hear both tracks simultaneously while the speakers play only one? If not, how do you know exactly where your at? Same question applies to when you are playing 1 song, then fading it into the next track, say at a club. Thanks for posting the vids, great help.

  • @attoghaveympops yeah there is the sound played through the headphones and the sound played through speakers. You can adjust the sound in the headphones also, so you could be playing track 1 on the system, but only track 2 in the headphones, and then you can mix track 1 to your headphones, playing along with track 2 in the headphones, so that you can make sure that everything sounds fine before you mix track 2 onto the system.

  • Good lesson , thank you (:

  • is that a fish eye camera lense?

  • talk a lot..

  • @Robizdur thats the whole point of a tutorial dumbass.

  • Tip: as a mix DJ always listen to the High Hats first, then the kick drum (if house music). No matter what style music, if the hats match, so does everything else......

  • was labert der eig ^^ :D

  • @speedy2lolo schreib dich nicht ab dude, lern englisch -.-

  • i have just started djing and i have reached a problem. There are two tracks i'm playing but i only want the vocals and guitar from one and the drums from the other. I have got a dm950 for a mixer and two belt drive turntables......how do i do this

  • EQ kill switches can help to a limited degree (very limited), but you really need to look for instrumentals and acapella versions of your tracks.

  • @redsox1024 impossible

  • hey j!

i think you should do like a top 100 favourite tracks list! that would be so ill!

  • i think you should be in djmsgs top 100 for all the effort you put in to these videos.

  • lol

    thanx for the info.

i can chop ferry wel my meal

  • cheers mate, much help thanks

  • dark drum and bass? limewax and tech itch stuff?

  • Hi mate, need a bit of help here - why dont the start button on my stanton t90's work? I need you're help you are the superstar dj . please reply , p.s i've been admiring you from a far.

  • @meankilla1 lol stanton t.90s are shit, thats probably why your play button doesnt work. for the price of the t.90's you can spend a little bit more and get industry standard sl1200s which will last you a life time of playing records.

  • lol carots

  • You use songs which are in no way simmilar to each other and i respect that keep up the good work ! DS

  • Chop has a different meaning in chop and screw.

  • He doesn't suck, he inspires and helps ppl, if you don't like it then get the hell out of here, we dont want ppl like you here!

  • @Sasinio I agree completely. Ellaskins has helped me out so much in getting started as a DJ. If someone has an issue with these videos or what he says, then find somewhere else to complain. No one watching these videos gives a dam if you don't believe it what Ellaskins is saying/doing. Keep up the great work Ellaskins, and thank for all your help in getting me started on the path of DJ'ing. All the best from Toronto!

  • Your a twat. And doesnt he use the pitch control to touch up or down the record? the hardest but best way of doing it?? get out of here, no body wants your opinion. I think hes great, weather uve just bought a set of decks or have been playing for years, everyone can learn something

  • Couldnt have said it better myself.

  • c nul

  • o i like your set up look nice , but how much is cost all dj equement , and you go to school for that dj .

  • thanks for the tutorials Ellaskins.keep it up.

  • Hey I was watching alot of ur videos (not all so maybe you have done this) but I want to be i Rap DJ ... so i am wanting to know how do you Chop/mix songs with words in them because not all rap Song have the same beat .. imma starter so im not sure about the 1 2 3 thing but lots of beat are different and i want it to sound as clean as yours PLEASE HELP MAKE A VIDEO OR SOMETHING PLEASE MAN

  • always with your humour :P

    *chops*

    keep it up

  • hey john i have this idea. isnt it easier to count seconds in order to mix two songs instead of bars? i mean if you want to go 4 bars back isnt it easier to just go say 20 seconds? and more accurant?

  • especially on cd decks where u can see the time

  • doesnt work like that mate

  • so...... no more funny hats?.....

  • That is true, check my mixes to comfirm it.

  • great info !!!! :)

  • way cool, 5 stars!!

  • There are probably about as many ways to mix two tunes together as there are different recipes for baked beans, yet they are all (well almost all) quite good :) -- and all with the same basic ingredients, it's the small changes that make the variety.

  • Funny... I was handling some carrots this morning!

    Thanks!

  • another great tutorial johnathan, lol at the end! Another point on the subject is jamming sessions, get some fellow djs round, all set up your equipment and take it in turns cutting up different genres of music. I would recommend it, as it has really helped me develop my overall mixing technique.

  • Being good cook helps to become good DJ

    Practice and carots ane enjoy

    ^^

  • Thanks J

I must go and buy some carrots.

  • what i love to do is have lyrics on one side

and bass line on the other

    about in the same idea

but like you said a different style

    very creative it gets

    good one

    cheers

  • haha, lol, your last sentence in the movie :)

    nice one..

  • nice one!
