  • hmm interesting concept

  • it will be empty when you use look at microscoop to see million or thousand smaller it(tree, human, animal.etc)size it will be nothing believe me

  • what is the purpose of this machine..its supposed to break down small particles..bu its a gigantic machine that has to do the delicate work of breaking particles 1millionths it's size...what id ont get is why do we need to break this particles? what is the benfit to mankind? does it have any purpose?

  • @mehnaz01 well yes obviously a gigantic machine has to be used to break down subatomic particles...i mean, the atom bomb has enough force to incinerate a 30 mile area, of course a large machine has to be used to contain any possible problems. the purpose is to try to recreate the first few moments of the big bang, to better understand the universe and how it works. we're looking for the higgs boson, the god particle, to see if we understand the universe as well as we think we do.

  • It is true that the LCH is trying to produce black holes, however not on this scale. If String theory proves to be correct then they will be tiny black holes wrapped up in the 7 dimensions outside of the 3 spacial and 1 time dimension. The black holes produced will have such little power that they will simply evaporate in a few seconds. However, cool video :)

    x

  • you would need a Collier the size of the inter Galaxy to make that...

  • People dont seem to understand the doomsday scenario for the lhc...

They said it would create black holes. The catch is that black holes are a highly concentrated form of mass that when large enough have enough gravitational pull to pull everything in and merge objects' masses into the black holes own mass. But black holes that small dont even have enough pull to keep themselves together so they eventually disappear. Hope this helps.

  • testing it 1 day before the 7th anniversary of 9/11...

  • I'd prefer it if the world ended in this way. The amount of nuclear weapons synchronized and aimed at all times at major cities is frightening. At least in this fantasy video, the world ends in the name of Science, exploration, and understanding, rather than some crazy single-minded private prejudice.

  • @strokesfan1107 No point in understanding something if it is going to kill you. If the world ends this way then science and all the knowledge it has ever produced will be wiped out. So, your view of this is kind of off in my mind.

  • @DraigonBoy I understand and respect your view. In my defense, I'll say that IF the world is to be utterly wiped out, it may as well be done with integrity, rather than some puerile feud between nation states. Although, I will allow my opinion to be disproved, and disagreed with.

  • @strokesfan1107 I am a biochemist. I have taken only undergraduate physics and don't understand everything that they are working with here. Nonetheless, I have never heard of any practical applications of any discovery they wish to make here. That makes me wonder if it is all worth the time, money, and risk. We will see what happens.

  • @DraigonBoy the practical application is to better understand the universe and how it works. this could prove string theory and that would completely redefine physics.

  • @imaferretmaster Ok. Not my area. I don't even know all of what string theory is and how it would redefine physics. But I am not going to be a moron and bash something just because I don't know what it is about. All the current chemical/physical understanding that we have now has served me just fine and works perfectly in my work. So, I don't know if redefining physics would really improve or even alter my field of work. But time may tell.

  • If the findings are verified and no shortage of money for new research, in brief, some 30 years, we have the fusion, with the possibility of obtaining clean energy and inesgotável.Será a new industrial revolution.

  • machine darkness.

  • Before the first Nuke went off, some of the physicist thought the reaction might keep going tell the entire atmosphere reached total saturation. But they did it any way. So screw it, lets do it again. Booyaaa!

  • Dude, i'm so stoned right now, i just thought that this was real for a sec...

  • @AlphaPickel nice, i LOLed

  • gay. super gay.

  • You American's just can't get through the day without thinking some kind of conspiracy or disaster is at hand. Is life really that boring for you?

Also the lyrics in this song are retarded, "the most loneliest day of my life" sounds like something a child would say, grammatically it should just be "THE loneliest day of my life".

  • @daddyschlong14 yes it is boring here ;)

  • Interesting video... No chance it would happen like that or happen during the 21st century or even happen at all. But the video maker said it's Fiction. So interesting but that's all.

  • arent the equations that predict a black hole here also say that it will be so small that it will radiate away so fast we wont even notice it not that that will hapen anyway this thing is no where near the predicted energy they need for that to happen, and yes people are starving but science is the way forward regardless of what people say if it wasnt for science we wudnt be where we are today

  • @7orqu3 R=2GM/c^2

R is the radius, G is the universal gravitational constant, M the mass of the black hole, c the speed of light. As you can see the radius would have to be monumentally small to form a black hole. Impossibly small unless G was a lot bigger which is only possible if extra spacial dimensions exist and gravitons exist.

  • Awesome special effect. Too bad it stops at earth, since a black hole would probably consume the entire solar system, nearby stars, and shift the entire center of the galaxy. Ah well.

  • SMASH IT TRASH IT CRASH IT .

    WE DO NOT NEED IT.

    WHILST PEOPLE STRUGGLE TO EAT

    WE ARE HELL BENT WASTING

    BILLIONS ON THIS NEEDLESS

    POINTLESS SHIT.

    WE SHOULD BE ASHAMED

    BUT THEN AGAIN AS EVER

    WHAT SAY DID WE HAVE.

    THEY ARE UTTER CUNTS

  • @TheTrilnp we need science , to hell those who could not eat. we won't waste money on them we spent money on science that is worthy

  • It's just so funny that people freak out of this experiment.

  • flash forward is made because of thismachine in episode 19 and 22 you see this thing and how it works

  • hahaha, this video is retarded. LHC wont destroy anything but the particles it is colliding.

  • WOWWWWWW LOVE IT!!!

    KARYNA KLINCKWORT!!!

  • lol.. love the video. but this wont happen .. never

  • @astroanu2004 this video is a threat to society your basically repeling people from gaining knowledge your act doesnt help our future in advanceing if this were the 1920s you would be considerd comunist and against modern day society!

  • bez ryzyka nie ma nauki

  • I don't understand why everyone thinks the world is going to end...(world,meaning earth of course)

Actually most youtubers that post these videos do it because they don't have anything else to do with their pathetic excistance

  • @Harisdoubled 'Everyone' do not think the world is going to end, some people do. those who dont know anything about the machine.

  • Ohhh, but I like your video!!!!

  • LOL EPIC FAIL 1:22

  • All I can say is: LOL XD

Why do people don't want to educate themselves is beyond me... I like the music tho SOAD rulz XD

  • Maybe this is why we dont c other intelligent life out there. Maybe there comes a point where the civ must decide. And I am hoping we are well prepared in case things go sour. I really do hope I m wrong. God I really do. Cos I so like existing, Dude. Pls God let us tweak U safely. But in anycase its has been a fantastic sim.

  • it didnt work in 2008 they are doin it again in 2010 september

  • @jcandreug yes it did........

  • Man's ultimate goal is to reverse engineer their god.

  • @jimmy870 What failture?

  • @jcandreug There was a Magnet quench at the LHC on sept. 19 2008. Look it up.

  • why the hell fucking sciencists even wanna know how universe began

  • I hope that physics discover the higgs particle..

It's fantastic... I'm doing a work for my school about LHC. Everyone knows about LHC? Everyone want help me? Thank you.

Sorry for my English... ( From spain, Barcelona )

  • WOW what a great vid !

    Great film making skills.

  • nice one... now that's really doomsday..

  • Go die you and your devil cern...Stop Digital Angel

  • very creative!

    ;]

  • Lolz, Cern is most protected.... there is no chance to destroy earth..... your video and these comments are fames....

  • gee these people have nothing better to do, but look at me watching this crap

  • cool

  • nice animation xP but it succeeded!!! :D this is an historic moment

  • Why try to destroy the earth with a new big bang? fail

  • ha ha idiots it worked so you can shove your theory up your arse

  • Leave, leave Geneva every last one of you,

Saturn will be converted from gold to iron,

RAYPOZ will exterminate all who oppose him,

Before the coming the sky will show signs

  • Nothing will happen if they get it to work. This has already been done with smaller collides, this one is just bigger.

  • Great vid bro thanks for posting

  • system of a down lonely day

  • stupid video....ah you made this video for fun?...ok you are stupid funny

  • 2:10 Best part *-*

  • What are the possibilities of cybernetics, nano techo used to heal, and finding a way to use a black hole as transportation in the next 5-10 years? Im just asking for estimations

  • nano technology is already being used to create poxies that are used in medical equiptment as well as cure the blind (research "first bionic eye" for more info).

it is unlikely we will ever use black holes in transportation, i highly recomend that you research black holes, as this is a near imposibility.

the LHC is for studying particle physics. quantum tunneling is what makes the semi transistors in your computer work, particle physics is worth while.

  • @Tahkoon For nanotechnology,very high.But for black hole transportation,its very hard.Although there might be a way. :) Hope i helped

  • Haha I love this video XD

  • @mdma4life what do you call the special team that responds incase of a helium leak or other emergencies?

  • Cern will always be a failure in the eyes of the uneducated, god fearing people of the world... To the rest of us, it will be ten billion dollars well spent...

    ^..^

  • Hey fuckass, just because your a I dunno, descent human being that was raised just as majority as America (Christian if your too dumb to comprehend) was doesnt make you an ignorant hillbilly. God if that isnt the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard another human being say then I dont know wtf is. That is simply the most ignoramus thing Ive ever heard anyone say. (If you cant tell Im a christian who also believes in science).

  • Tahkoon, I find most Christians are rude, uneducated, and violent. Your words only reinforce my findings. You are rude using profanity when I have said nothing to provoke this attitude... You show your obvious lack of education if you think that there is any possibility of science developing a way of using a black hole as transportation in 10 years. And I can only assume from your attitude that if we were to meet, you would be more than happy to show me just how violent you can be.

    ^..^

  • Your a little weird >.>

I dont start internet fights; thats just pointless.

  • I'm weird ??? The definition of the word 'weird' has to do with the supernatural... Suggesting the supernatural, or relating to or influenced by fate... That would be you, not me... I don't believe in the supernatural...

  • @TheWildAssCopyCat I have to say that you are "strange" to go into such detail over the word "weird".

  • Comment removed

  • Son of a glitch; I hope that doesn't end this way.

  • ive heard that 6 months ago one magnet overheat and a metal rod melts

  • It happened in Sept 2008, a busbar interconnect experienced a very small increase in resistance (we're talking nano-ohms), which caused a magnet quench, which led to a leak of a few thousand litres of liquid helium, which in turn tore some of the magnets in sector 3-4 off their moaring.

  • moaring...mooring...It's all good.

  • All that damage has since been repaired, and a quench protection system has been put in place. Collisions began last Nov. 23 and ran up to 1.18TeV per beam (2kA magnet current), which is twice as much as any previous collider could achieve. On Dec. 16 the LHC underwent its annual shutdown and the quench protection system was upgraded to allow for 6kA magnet current, with collisions @ 3.5TeV per beam.

LHC will resume operation in the next day or two, ramping up to 3.5TeV systematically

  • Very nice work

  • whooo did u make with photoshop?

    nice work man!

  • Ok, suddenly this doomsday theory is a little crazy, because even so, the LHC will create micro black holes. these would be so small and powerful that would evaporate soon, before they create a mess. too. security at CERN there is very strict. so you can sleep peacefully. this theory is hardly possible to happen, sorry about my english and nice video

  • that was really cool man

  • Even then, if if did get more planck volume than the initial, quantum-gravitationally stable volume, it would again be subject to emitting Hawking radiation and either evaporate, or absorb the the surrounding radiation to maintain itself , again very slowly gaining mass.

We would be long gone from earth by the time such a body became a threat.

Although most likely they wont ever be able to fabricate their own singularity, even if thy try to.

  • Comment removed

  • 3- If quantum gravitation effects unforeseen were to actually stabilize the MBH, it would sink into the earth core and remain there, accretion of matter would be forced into it by the pressure, not by its insignificant gravity well, and would be so slow that for it to become large enough to begin "eating" the earth from within, it would take thousands if not millions of years.

  • Ignorance is so wide-spread, it's sad. 1- If the occasional MBH (Micro Black Hole) is created, there will be no huge explosion whatsoever. 2- If such an event occurs, the infinitely dense particle-sized singularity would expel Hawking Radiation at a rate way over 2.73K, and evaporate in less than a nanosecond, giving off a bright flash of light and a gamma rays.

  • A year ago when they first started the LHC and it took a shit what power level where they running at? It destroyed half a kilometer of the machine and i imagine it wasn't even close to full power.

Helium into a high energy particle beam doesn't sound like a good idea to me, they are going to make fusion.

  • Stfu, you're talking crap and you probably don't even understand what's going on in there.

  • im not talking crap, nigger.

i was just wondering, but i do look forward for it to fail at 1000MJ due to gook/paki engineering

    got it you kike

  • You don't just talk crap, you also eat chit. Go read something about the LHC, and if youcan't understand, do something else. Wash cars for example.

  • lol your racial slurs just add to the negative impression you are giving your self.

(that impression being stupidity and ignorance when it comes to your understanding of theoretical physics)

  • Don't get mad becuase your "theoretical physics" doesn't provide any answers. Theory is a guess, and i trust your guess that the LHC LHC will not destroy the Earth if it makes you feel any better.

and by the way the fact that a gigawatt of kinetic energy can cause mass destruction is not a theory.

  • Your definition of "theoretical" is pathetic even for such a simple minded fool such as your self.

"Theory" is not a guess as you so simple stated.

The majority of theories are backed up by data, in physics that data is mathematics and mathematics can explain how how the universe works by using equations, an example of this would be E=mc(squared) or F=ma

But to point out the stupidity of your comment i have to point out that you don't question if Gravity is real or not but Gravity is a THEORY

  • @grant11102

These educated guesses fit until we uncover new data, and hopefully that data will not show itself in a violent manner.

The observation of gravity is a fact.

  • It is the law of gravity that if you drop an object here, it will fall to the ground there , but it is Gravitational Theory that explains how and why this occurs.

Gravity is a law, but we understand and explain it through a theory. I was showing an example of a theory to show how silly your statement was when you said "theory is a guess"

A theory is so much more than just a guess.

No theory is accepted without sufficient data to back it up...in most cases that data is maths.

  • So a guess is a hypothesis, and a theory is a hypothesis that fits with the available information.

  • iam not sure if you know how atomic particals react in a perceived atomic universe then. if we where able to create a exotic partical then we can do alot of stuff with that partical

  • I Think another reason why the LHC is created to make contact with other advance civilaztions. communicateing on a advance partical in a sub atomic universe

  • @ghettohearts68 I dont think that hitting "few" particles together could help us make contact with some civilization lots of light years from earth

  • BWAHAHAHAHAHA! x'D

This is so fucking ridiculous. First of all, the odds of this experiment resulting in such a phenomenon are practically equal to zero. Second of all, the world would be "swallowed" too fast to even be noticeable. We would practically just cease to exist.

  • ^_^

  • @ese1230

I LOVE THIS VIDEO! it's so awesome lol.

  • ^_^

  • @fisherfriendss exactly

  • @fisherfriendss You really do suck some major big massive hard black motherfuckin' hairy ass COCK. If i were you, i would forget about everything i think i know and start again.

  • @fisherfriendss hey man let me say this, They are trying to make a sun, a sun dies eventually, Well a sun with a mass of what 24 grams or kilos or whatever will most surely die in a few seconds, But thats not the case, the sun will collapse into itself, and create a black hole which cant be destroyed. Either that or they are trying to create a black hole for Nibiru, it reality the only defense, at the end of 2012 they are turning it on, after that its going to be shut off for good.

  • actually it takes 5 billion years when it becomes a red giant - and it will have a maximum radius beyond the Earth's current orbit. Sucks... :D

  • dudes , cern will test the 'Big Bang" that created the universe us and everything.. This can not couse anything.. no worries :D we will live till the sun dies :)

  • @MrHiph0per we will live longer, we will own the entire universe in the billion years it takes the sun to die.

  • no, we'll probly kill ourselves within the next thousand years

  • Jeah... these apocaliptic theories are so stupid :D.

  • hey, I really like the song that you pair with this video. "The Loneliest day of my life." How many lonely people on earth.

  • thank you, originally atempted to use the End of the world by R.E.M, but couldn't get it quite right. Glad you liked ut

  • well, CERN is about making a black hole... but it won't last in a split second because it won't be able to suck anything. but for that split secod we humans can learn extreme things aout time and space.

  • I have Seen this before on discovery and BBC this is a part of an 7 apocalypse teories Program and i want to know the ñame

  • really good job!

  • 666 logo what coincidence

  • rofl,

    nice vid.

cept that the researchers wouldnt run in fear, they would scramble to get the data down. :P

  • @Fr0s1Byte hahahha aaah so true!

  • This looks like a trailer to one of those cool American movies.

  • its as if all of you are going to keep blowing up at the smart people for making something that looks dangerous but really isn't -.-

  • seriously why would we all put are life's into the hands of a retard.

  • your an idiot.

the cern testing didnt even come close to creating even a minor seismic occurrence.

  • Comment removed

  • nah, you just said nothing period.

  • now come on you people, you making mini universe images not even one percent close to the real universe created, taking billions and billions of dollars, hundreds of people. and you want to say that there is no God? how stupid do u want to be even more, Surely there is One God ,.

  • That's footage from some low budget british movie, I once saw parts of it, heh.

  • skippy video bad quialityyyy!!!

  • I want to add the reason why they get foundings. I`m a rat. ok, not funny.

this is Einsteins technology taken further, but these people don`t have they`re own brain.

They take his work and guess. That`s dangerous. Einstein was not exactly sane. The A-bomb came from this kind of research,

It`s important to state that the only reason they need to "find out something about the origin", is so the gouverment can make a better particle - based weapon. And these scientists may not even know it

  • But without Einstein we also wouldn't be able to use any GPS-based technology at all. Any advanced technology can be used for good and evil. Plexiglas for instance was originally developed to build lighter aeroplanes for the second world war. You can't just stop asking questions, because someone might use the answers for something evil. Its our own - everyones - responsibility that the results of scientific research are not misused. Just like seperating the trash :)

  • Unrealistic, but I liked it from an entertainment perspective.

  • Made for entertainment ;)

  • well i show a real tesla wireless energy transfer, its quite important that people learn the technology. i send energy 20 ft wirelessly with just a basic set up. with a full model you can send industrial energy wirlessly to all people on the earth and this would upgrade the living and environment problems we face. please we should be spending billions on a tesla wireless transmitter to help further humanity, not smashing little pieces of matter. please i put up info or just search nikola tesla!

  • the clip is non realistic, an earth mass black hole has an event horizon approx 1 cm in diameter, in this clip the event horizon is continent sized.

the maker is not aware of physics no wonder this misunderstanding the whole thing.

  • This is just a "for fun" video. I knew before the test that it wouldn't destroy the Earth, but I still enjoyed this video.

  • AM 21.Oktober wird der richtige versuch gemacht.

    also der zusammenstoß ausgeführt.

    mal sehen wies läuft ;)

  • NIce!!

    -Wonderboy

  • darn... why do I keep hitting the Remove instead of the reply button X3 Sorry to all who got there comments removed due to my stupidity...

  • nice efects and good very good music

  • Thank you

  • I think it will restart in mid-November 2009 4 months from now.

  • IF this will happens we won't feel anything!!!!

    So who cares :P haha!!

  • XD RAWR I like the way you think

  • why are people scared of that? if we don't discover new technologys the human race will die in the next hundred years .. i'm sure

  • Or we would just nuke each other

  • el esperimento resulto exitosso

  • i think this will happen someday...

  • I think you're an idiot.

  • I like your comments

  • HE IS YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!

  • Great video and all, but the reality might be a bit.. different, though it ofc wont happen it would take less than 0.1 second for the earth to disappear if a black hole would occur

  • sry, you're totaly wrong! To atratcts something, a black hole needs some hours.... but nothing hapends, if a black holes appears, it will be very very very very small and it doesn't do anithing!

  • if it ofcause was big enough to devour anything.. But you need to understand that the gravitational pull is HUGE, it will grow in a matter of miliseconds and you wont even notice... IF it would be big enough. (which it wont, because they simply cant deliver the power)

  • Congrats [=. You did your research and that proves you are actually smarter than the people that left comments on this video.

  • 1:36 OMG!!!

  • Wahoo. Nicely made.

  • the 6 billion dollar experiment thats d name of a documentary im very disappointed by the LHC i was very excited about the results what a let down *(

  • Just wait till the re-activation.

  • What was the name of the bbc three program at 1:10 - 2:10

  • nice vids :)

  • nothings gonna happen we would've been dead by now... "Tsk" "Tsk"

  • haha.. good job on the video =)

i also think something like this won't happen.

none the less, thinking about it makes us realize how unimportant to the universe we humans really are. "what happens after our solar system is gone?"

    no big impact at all..

    strange thought =)

and as for the money issue. i can imagine hundreds of other places to cut funds instead of fundamental science.

come on.. where would we be today without it?

  • crazy visual effects at the end, nice.

  • The LHC doomsday scenario is about as legitimate as a 3 dollar bill.

  • its all a joke...

  • Darn... and here I was living in my dreamworld thinking that 3 dolar bills actually exsisted...

Oh well, thanks for ripping me out of my dreamworld ;-)

  • ridicolous

  • Nice video.

  • This project is a waste of money, I bet 100 dollars that the higgs boson is going to be there, Stephen Hawking seconds that claim.

  • thank god we can rest easy knowing that Ogirv101 thinks the higgs is there... why would the they even waste money on this project? they should have just come to you! you're such a genius you know that? actually, just that YOU think its there we don't even need stephan hawking, you're clearly just as good.

fuck you, you arm chair physicist.

  • Sorry, there was a typo. The Higgs Boson won't be there, and Stephen hawking bets 100 pounds it won't bet there. The LHC is just a waste of money and resources.
