Hilarious! I'm going to launch one later today. I was wondering if there would be any coast time before the ejection charge goes off. As I expected, it comes down like a rock, and it looked like your chute ejected on the ground. There's a lump of clay in the roof, for cryin' out loud! It's a travesty! An bronx cheer in the face of aeronautics! I'm so proud to own one.
Mine had an awesome flight! I used a C6-3, and it labored hard to get up a hundred feet or so (total guess) and ejected at just the right time. I could only fit one sheet of wadding in the tiny body tube to protect the chute, so it got melted on on side and fell kind of fast. My kid almost got there to catch it but it plopped down without a scratch. I hope to get a vid next time.

I would use an engine with zero delay on the ejection charge. No coast to speak of. The thing did fall like a rock. It was fun.
