  • Hi again- your concert on the 15th in Brooklyn was a blast! My friends and I are certainly looking forward the next one.

    Keep it up!

    Beslamah for now :)

  • Looking forward seeing your concert on March 15...Moroccans 'rock'!

  • Cool! We look forward to seeing you!

  • Allah is one, yes, but you (jews) don`t believe in Mohammed, peace be upon him. So why sing about Allah Subhana wa Ta`ala, while you don`t believe in His last prophet (peace be upon him)?

A jew will always be a jew; even though he sings about Islaam or Allah.

  • Allah is for all, not just for Muslims. Mohammed was a great spiritual thinker and offered a wonderful approach to Allah for all of humankind. But Allah is for all and all are for Allah, whether through Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Agnosticism, Buddhism, Animism, etc.

  • Allah is indeed for all; but you have to follow His commands and the way of life that Mohammed, peace be upon him, left us.

When you`re not a muslim, you don`t believe in Allah en His last prophet, as simple as that. So why sing about it?

  • Just because I don't believe that Mohammed is his last prophet, or that the Torah is just as valid as the Quran doesn't mean I don't believe in Allah.

You have a very narrow view of who can believe in Allah. Mohammed is not the only person to explain how to follow Allah's commandments. Likewise, one does not need to be Muslim to sing about Allah. In fact, many Jews and Muslims sang about Allah together all over the world for many centuries. Only recently Jews and Muslims don't sing together :(

  • In the Islaam it`s ALL or NOTHING. You can`t say; I believe in Allah and His Book (the Qu`raan), but I don`t believe in Mohammed, peace be upon him.

    ALL OR NOTHING.

  • asefamusic!! you can not believe in Allah if you dont accept and dont believe muhammed. Because only muhammed tells us about what Allah c.c. is.

Allahu ahad, allahussamed, lem yelid ve lem yuled. Jesus and musa came only for the jewish people but muhammed came for all people so if you want azad you must believe first Muhammed than you can believe in Allah.

  • You dont have to be a muslim. You just have to understand sunetullah and you must believe hz.muhammed. so you have to be muhammedi. If you say you are moslem than you are sunni or shii or alevi etc. but you just must be muhammedi inneddine innallahe islam.

  • Arabic Muslims, Christian and Jews use the same word of God num nutts.

  • You're Welcome Dear Friend.. • Hey man,

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the uplifting spirit. Hope to see you in Morocco someday!

  • Being gnawi is not related to a religion it's a spirit....

    Gnawiya

  • Well Said!! I AGREE!!!!

  • Asefa: Judaism is a religion just like any other ?!? if a black person or a heathen goes to the synagogue and claims to have interest in embracing the religion I guarantee that no rabbi will turn him down... but again there are countless misconceptions & rumours as regards Jews that must be dispelled. -Shmuel

  • I don't think you've read the comments I've posted here. You might want to check out our website to see what we are all about. asefamusic . com

  • 1- there are black Jews. many of them in Israel

2- In morocco there were berber Jews-Jews who came to the Atlas mountain areas 2000 years ago (not converted...some were though). and Sephardic jews-Jews that came from spain after the expulsion.

  • Well i did not know that there were berber jews, i thought that in morocco there were only arab jews. Morocco is a country with many differnt cultures, religions and traditions thats what makes it so interessting!

  • so we agree that gnawa are origanali from africa, thats what i'm trying to say. And what i mean by i have never seen a black jewish person is that there are also a lot of jewish people who live in morocco but there roots are from the middle east(israel)they are moroccan but there origin is not

  • Of course we agree! Except, you should know that many Moroccan Jews are of Berber origin, converting to Judaism 1500-2000 years ago (long before the Arabs came to Morocco). In fact, my grandfather is a Berber Jew of origin.

  • It is true that gnawi are from Sub-Saharan Africa by origin. I make no claims that there are Jewish-Gnawi, rather they shared culture in Morocco for centuries.

By the way, there are black Jews. Uganda, Ethiopian, and African-American Jews.

  • yeah i know but a real gnawi is originali from africa, you can recognise a gnawi by his skin tone, most gnawa are black. and i have never seen a black jewish person

  • gnawa are originali from mid-africa and have nothing to do with de moroccan jews. I'm from marocco and i know for sure that gnawa are mid-africans that came to live in morocco and brought there music and traditions with them!

  • Moroccan Jews trace roots to the Marrakesh area for centuries, predating even the arrival of the gnawa in Morocco. However, over the past few centuries gnawa and Jews shared in their minority status in Morocco. One area where gnawa and Jews were very active together was music.
