the 1970s and 1980s version of this that went on Global were the same episodes (titled hammy the hamster) only with the creator Paul Sutherland doing the narration rather than Johnny Morris. These "further tales of the riverbank" are actually renamed reissues of the 1970s hammy hamster (which was a sequel to the 1959 b/w tales of the riverbank).
I don't remember this 'british version" of the show. Us kids in the 80s remember the Canadian version that included Matty the Mouse and not the name Rodrick. Anyway, that plane is bad ass. I actually wished I had a toy like that with the animals in it LOL.
plus the voices of the characters were different. Also the white mouse was called Matty Mouse in the one your thinking of not Rodrick. But I think its really cool how you remember the oppinions expressed....intro before. i remember that too. they did that for a lot of shows on global.
