Always loved this song. Never saw the video before. It's pretty cool. Fred was kinda cute in this video. I have no idea how this video is in any way controversial. Other than what the song is actually about, the video seems innocent enough to me.
LOL, hilarious song with a good beat! (His album from 1984 was rather good; shame he didn't do a second solo outing with the Shake Society, but with the B-52s he's *better*.)
Great to hear Kate's vocals in this... and Fred makes an obviously silver/black 80s outfit work wonders. Almost timeless, actually... I'd love to wear that style today...
@tomyazvids thats what i ment, i have this on tape, and i could tell from the first listen that the track in this video is different and not as great as the one on my tape, i could upload it but for some reason everything i upload is only on one speaker and not both left and right
@theALmighty66 i dont know where you are getting this info, i didnt say that, you are getting the wrong idea, i dont know what the fuck you are trying to say, or prove, I FUCKING HATE WHEN PEOPLE REMASTER CLASSIC MUSIC AND MAKE IT WORSE, they ruined blizzard of oz and the doors by remastering, they did it with the track on this video, the song is from 1984 what the fuck are you talking about? they remaster after, the version on my tape is the perfect better orignal mix,
@witchcraftlord Wow. I'm just trying to understand, ha. Calm . . . calm. Here, check out this link: discogs.com/Fred-Schneider-Monster/release/1505799 -- That's the 1990 single release. The edited version is what we see in the video here; the album version was released after this on his self-titled album. Or maybe it was all recorded in 1983 or 1984 but the full version wasn't available until 1990? I'm just trying to understand the story here; that's all. Don't freak.
@theALmighty66 dont fucking tell me to calm down, i am calm, are you here are you with me no you are no just because you think i sound upset and i swear doesnt mean im actually upset, dont fucking judge a book by its cover,
@theALmighty66 wow, what whats your fucking problem, you have no right to tell me to calm down or say dont freak, i am calm, and i didn not freak, dont fucking confuse written words with emotion, i dont know what the fuck you are doing, and i dont fucking care, so i dont know what mood you are in, but ii could easly me like you and make an assumption that you are probly not in as a good of a mood as me, did your grandpa leave you $40,000 in the bank ? mine did, so shut up!
@theALmighty66 the album came out in 1984 credited to Fred Schneider and The Shake Society, then a slightly remixed version came out in 1991 with a new cover but credited to Fred Schneider only.
@witchcraftlord ONe reason the Ozzy stuff got remastered, from what I heard. They erased certain instrument tracks and had someone else play them. THis is so the original musician on the original tracks wouldnt get paid anymore whenever a copy was sold. And with the new guy , i think they got a one time fee for playing or they are getting a smaller cut for playing. Whats worse is when they re record songs and do them differently than the original version and it sounds goofy.
i'm gonna go with: You've gotta understand the nuances of selective censorship - - and how that meets the demographic of small time whores, looking up to big time whores.
@DeaconBlood Because MTV was owned by different people then... the people who actually founded the station in '81. You know... when they actually played music?
@DBMalone - well, it was banned because of the obvious double-entendre, of which we oddly don't get to see actual proof... If MTV actually showed music today, they would call this video "too tame" and prefer one-note electronic drivel with the bleached lady singer licking ice cream cones suggestively...
