  • automatic trannnys are great for turbo cars theres no loss of psi as with a manuel when u shift u loose psi and it has to be gained again

  • was it expensive??

i am thinking about getting one.

  • That's in front of the steelers stadium. Lol

  • bout to get one son!!!

  • sounds good man, keep it up

  • great cars, I just bought a 2.4 stick, I love it, going to turbo it in the future

  • ZZPerformance is the way to go. Mine will be undergoing the wrench on the 8th of March to go to the ZZP turbo Stage II. Should up the power form 150 to 250-60 hp at the wheels. Huge difference imo. Also look into Trifecta Performance tuning and some other stuff from ZZP and Cobalt Addiction.

  • Weird he removed his comment. But yea, I'm aiming for 250 with intake (if it ever ships) and header-back exhaust.

  • @systemxpander...you should try racing a GM car thats 20 years older than you. see what happens

  • Does the gm performance in take make a difference

  • Actually it did and sound great. NOT THAT RICE SHIT. Got the stock exhaust back on it now cuz Im trading it in for a Ion Redline.

  • GM NEVER MADE a SS Supercharged Auto. There was a time when da SS Supercharged and SS 2.4L Share sumwhat of the same name til the SS 2.4L was change to the Cobalt Sport in 08.

  • Do you still own this car? And did you do any other upgrades to it?

  • Yea how stupid to have a consistent shifting transmission that won't shatter final drive gears and also makes city driving much more liveable. Retard. Keep your comments to yourself.

  • @SystemXpander Yea because the GTP and Buick GS is such a piece of shit right?

  • There's alot of cars out there that have an automatic and are supercharged other than Chevy.

  • Meh. There's a reason the boosted Cobalts are manual only.

  • manuals are no longer faster than autos. good autos will beat a manual because the computer actually can shift faster than a human can, with less lag between gears. look it up.

  • yup also new mods for autos on the 2.4 there is a bit of a mod that will make shits alot faster between gears

  • not in any cars we can afford. in something from mercedes or aston martin id believe that without hesitation.

  • but autos arent smarter than good drivers

  • the auto ss are fun as shit i got one an i love it an the new turbo ones do come in a a/t but its the 4 door not the 2 door your half right any cobalt is fun to dick around in my buddies sis has an ls an he has a 350 an he drove the ls an said it was fun as shit an they pick up speed very nicely thier a great sports car with good gas mileage what more can you ask for maybe besides more power!!!!!!!

  • Djh, an auto holds boost much better between shifts. That's why many high hp cars are semi automatics with paddles.

  • nice man. what else did you do to it. exhaust?

  • I modified the GM intake and put on a bigger filter, back in July. Still got the same old GM performance exhaust. Also got slotted/drilled rotors and semi-metallic brakes all the way around. LOL! Thinking bout trading it in 4 a Turbo SS sometime next month.

  • why would you buy a SS automatic. Any ss shouldn't come with an automatic tranny option. good thing the s/c and turbo only come in manual

  • I didn't know how to drive a stick at the time.

  • I have an SS auto, but my daily commute involves a lot of traffic and stop lights, so an auto suits me better. What's wrong with auto transmissions?

  • nothing...I have an A/T SS and it's wonderful...these manual trans junkies think they have a drag car or something....it's a sport-tuned daily commuter!

  • hehe. We do. I love my stick. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Ion SS hehe.

  • @Flamboyant8 there is nothing wrong with Auto's they are actually better if you want a drag car, they are way more consistent and last a hell of a lot longer than a manual trans, people think manual trans cars are faster but that's only on a road coarse or Auto X, if you wanna race straight line then the Auto driver will just laugh when you miss a gear or shift late, I have a manual camaro and my wife has an Auto Cobalt, and i love driving both

  • word up. I bet that within the coming years, technology will advance so much that auto transmissions will outperform manuals in all types of racing. not that I would like to see that happen though, because then racing would require less skill. but yeah man, I hate when people are like "nice car, is it a manual?" then I'm like "nah" and then they shit on me because they're retarded.

  • @Flamboyant8 yup, i love driving stick but only when im out driving for fun or racing, we use my wifes cobalt as our Daily driver because its just a pain to sit in 2-3 hours of traffic with the manual trans, and i have my daily Auto camaro that im building to be my drag car, that way i have a Stick Auto x camaro, and a drag camaro, we do take my stick camaro when we go on long trips to the beach though lol, only because it gets more attention at Crusin week than the cobalt does lol

  • @Flamboyant8

im thinking of getting an auto SS,how is the gas mileage on it ?

    thanks,

  • @TheEpicDream

True Say, i had no fucking clue how to drive stick but i bought a 2.4 SS and like a man I learned how to haha

  • @TheEpicDream

    ur fking retarded

  • @TheEpicDream I've got a fucked up left knee (ACL tear), and I'd hate to deny myself a powerful little car just because my knee prevents me from using a clutch. Plus with kids I love having the Auto trans. I can multitask while driving .

  • yeah sucks not a stick i got the same one but the blue 2dr ss 2.4 but mines a stick sorry but i think i could beat yours no offense but i didn't even hear a chirp into second gear not hatin though i like it all the red ss look sick and your exhaust sounds great! does your dealership carry sun roofs for the ss? b/c im dumb and didn't wait three days till the lot got one with a sun roof i got a pretty much brand new universal sunroof for sale if anyone has a sun roof like the ss sun roof write me

  • I didn't know who to drive a stick at the time (now I do) so I didn't get the other one the dealer had on the lot. I had plans for this but I'mma save up and out down for a 09 Cobalt SS Turbocharged. LOL!

  • its doesn't matter manual or automatic as long as its a Chevy :D

  • Really? Two identical cars, one with a manual, one with an auto, and the manual wins? When did this start happening?

I never knew manuals had more direct power...

  • manuals are faster 95% of the time. you can control the engine much better. it matters if you have a tc or sc or intake or anything that has to do with rpm.

  • That was called sarcasim :P.

  • didn't have any sticks on the lot? or just wanted auto?

  • I know how to drive a stick now, but it was the only 2 dr SS 2.4L we had on our lor. The only sticks we had were 4 dr SS 2.4L.

  • Fair enough. Looks sweet man.

  • ouch! auto?. exhuast sounds good man

  • Thanks.

  • Yeah, Its really good for an automatic. Wait until you go WOT and its even more fun hehehe! :)

  • LOL!

  • how much did the intake+exhaust+install cost?

  • Ruffly $500 for both. I got a discount for working at the dearlership I work at.

  • what type of intake do you have?

  • Gm Performance Intake.

  • I kno a guy who has the same set up just in blue instead of red
