  • that was very skilful fighting! i liked the speed and aggression.

  • Could you post an istructional video of how to make a shield, like yours in the video?

  • Amazing work with axe...switching between left and right hand almost after each swing, using shield in very close range and that "twist" at 00:15...I have to try it at nearest training :D

  • @frantajaksvina yes, Mike was our first longaxe fighter back in the day and I normally used the boarspear... I now pick up both depending on the situation, but Mike has always stuck with the longaxe as his length weapon of choice. Can't say I blame him, I prefer it myself.

  • i notice you have a new shield.. dare i make the suggestion that all your previous painted ones got chewed up thrugh al that relentless fighting. you sometimes seem to go through several in a fairly short period.

  • @elgostine Yep... i actually made three, this spring. The red warshield I use for my backshield is my regular shield too. The one with big knotwork is a loaner, and then i made a smaller one (bout 24") that I like to use for training mostly...

  • @skallagrimm i like that knotwork one. to the point that i m thinking of borrowing the design. mines still blank canvas wih radiating lines from the construction phase

  • Awesome sparring!!!

  • Now thats sparring with weapons ! Cool vid!

  • skallagrimm, i think i figured out what the problem is reguarding the bad quality. see the bottom right hand corner on the video? it says 240p. increase it.

keep up the good sparring bro

  • @sonnetxi and how do I do that? Can't find anywhere that let's me change it. Our vids used to look great, YT went corporate and its never been the same...

  • @skallagrimm It's to do with the recording. You should be able to fix it with settings on your camera (depending on if the camera has these settings of course). If you record in 720p, it can easily go lower. But if it's recorded in 240p, it's harder to upscale it.

  • @Kisk79 I would point out that the vids are much higher resolution on the camera (same camera the whole time), as well as the video editing software i have always used. Nothing has changed on my end... YT only gives the 240p choice, it used to give one higher setting, but not now evidently. It's not the camera, or how I upload the vids... that only leaves one other option.

  • @skallagrimm I have no idea why it's doing it then. Doesn't seem to do it to other users. You could always try asking in the Youtube Help Forums, most people there are friendly and knowledgeable.

  • @skallagrimm hmm iam not too certain but after researching a little and doing a little uploading myself, i will guess its the quality of your video after its been exported from your video editing program (eg final cut pro) that is the issue (ie how good the quality you save your cut). because i edited a little video, saved it on above 480p quality, uploaded it, and its playable on 480p. hope this is at least vaguely helpful. best of luck on future uploads!

  • @sonnetxi I appreciate all the suggestions and help you guys, but after checking FAQ's and YT forums, it seems alot of people have run into this issue. My older movies have the higher res choice, but not the newer uploads... I haven't changed anything on my end...
