  • I want to be long traveld so bad. But it looks like I am gonna have to settle for mid travel. : > (

  • @MrDeparture this video is the 2" long travel... and it is amazing... sure the 3.5" dual shock is very cool... but at least the 2" lets you stay street legal with the stock fender flairs.

  • I got a hold of Metal Tech in Newberg. Had talk to Mark about welding my TC gussets on my spindles and welding on the limit strap clevis. Also replacing a few seals on the spindles. It sounds like these guys at Metal Tech know what they are doing so I am gonna have them do the welds on my tacoma.

  • @toyodriver2004 Glad to hear that they could help you out.

  • Oh that is cool, I am located in Beaverton not too far from Newberg. You guys can pretty much do anything huh? You have a number I could reach them at?

  • @toyodriver2004 sent you a message with their contact info... I hope they can help you out and your long travel project turns out the way you plan.

  • Four house to take the old off and 4 hours to put the new on? I am going to try to complete it in 6 hours. Going to be installing the Camburg LT kit on my 04 toyota tacoma either this next weekend or the following next week. Is this video taken at metal Tech? I heard him say "Metal Tech" where is metal tech located? is that in Newberg?

  • @toyodriver2004 thanks for the comment... yes Mark and LT from Metal Tech are the guys who did the build. Metal Tech is in Newberg, OR. and they know Toyota 4x4 better than just about anyone. These are the guys who the BBC called when Top Gear wanted someone to do a FJ40 build in South America. (check out our site for that episode) They know their stuff. Good luck with your build and let us know how it goes.

  • How long did this install take?

  • This install took approximately 8 hours. It included rebuilding the two front half shafts since our rig is 4WD. There was also about 2 hours prep (reviewing the materials and talking with TC on the installs they had done.

  • I wanting to install a Camburg LT kit on my 04 tacoma. By watching this video it looks pretty easy... The only thing i am not able to do is weld on those TC gussets.

  • the spindle gusset reinforcement is not part of the the long travel kit. it is a good idea to do them at the same time though since all the parts are coming off. Their is some additional welding (on the TC kit) for the bump-stop extension and the limit strap attachment to the frame. the gusset was an extra we chose to do at the same time.

  • So when you weld those TC gussets your going to want to keep the upper control arm attached to the spindle?

  • The UCA does not have to remain attached. The only reason the spindles and UCAs were left attached was to make positioning the spindle and the reinforcement a little easier.

  • Sweet video. i've also got the total chaos +3.5" arms on my 97T100, and i must say - i like em....

  • thanks... the 2" is great... the 3.5" must be incredible... run over curbs and not even know...

  • Nice vid! Should of gone with the vehicle/kit specific Coil overs from Icon Vehicle Dynamics though. ;]

  • ICON are good... I like Sway-A-Ways which are built specifically for the FJC and completely rebuildable.

  • Who told you ICON's aren't?

  • icons are amazing! About to run them on a camburg LT kit for my tacoma

  • how much is that travel kit ?...good job by the way !

  • Since that changes over time... I would suggest giving Metal Tech, LLC (google for website) a call or email. They really know this stuff and are up on any discounts and total kit parts.

  • Great. Thank you...

  • Glad you enjoyed the video.
