  • Hi @snide95

If you check and stop at 0:02, you will found the answer.

  • Es un estupendo documento; se muestra como todavía no movían el cuerpo de un lado a otro y no hacían ningún tipo de "juego de pies"; eran ataques rápidos y muy anunciados, directos.

  • Looks like a video for the village people

  • this is STRONG

  • wow they cant fight

  • @Angus1101 It really goes to show how combat has evolved and even the style of boxing has become so much more efficient since then.

  • @DamienZshadow: nonesense. An oldschool boxer would take down a modern boxer in a real street fight easily. They knew how to block without gloves, they knew how to hit bare knuckle.

  • @cwmyr Hey, I'm not saying they didn't know how to fight. I'm just saying that over time you expect the techniques and training to become more honed and precise. It's not an attack on old school boxing, it's just the natural consequence of things. All forms of art, technology, and even sport becomes more specialized and little inefficiencies are fixed over time like flat feet and dropping hands. Why wouldn't future fighters know better? They learn from the past and improve upon it.

  • @DamienZshadow I agree. The technique hasnt evolved quite yet in this video. lol

  • @jakejackson09 I know, right? It's like all they're doing all the wrong things at the same time. lol

  • whats up with the man thong?

  • Fake

  • repect

  • Glad to see that boxing has come a long way... =)

  • Boy, those old steam powered cameras were great, eh? ;)

  • these people who supposedly own the rights to these old films have no intention of doing anything with them.they just dont want anyone else to view them.

  • i dont recognize any of the names but still a great clip.its not benny leonard.way before his time.they looked like welterweight or middleweights.

  • Queensbury Rules... brought to you by the same guy who sent Oscar Wilde packing for "seducing" his son...

  • thats looks pretty shite

  • @mop2mop - Actually it is great, this was about 110 years ago

  • Wonder why they don't implement classic pugilism in modern mma

It looks like it could work

  • It almost looks like the guy on the left is wearing nothing but a G string!!

  • Purely classical Marquese DeQueensbury Rules boxing thank you for the post

  • What do you mean?

  • The rules being used are of british origin the Marquis DeQueensbury is what it was known as this is oposed to French Savate which is a combination of both boxing and what now would be called Kickboxing check it out on here under savate

  • [irony] I bet boxing cannot stand against Muay Thai because I have seen this YouTube-Video [irony]

  • Love Mauy Thai also the small quick guys that can crack a skull in a small time quick and nasty

  • You did not get it, right?

  • hahahahahahahahaahahahaha XD

  • oh nice style XD

  • great video very very rare

  • They couldnt box for shit back then

  • no shit.

it was different times, different styles.

  • then you don't know what you are seeing. Most of the punches are executed no differently. The sudden lunges are because boxing had just come out of having a lot of wrestling still in it, so they avoid clinches by getting in and out.

  • in and out in and out.

    sounds good.

  • BOO HOO STOP YOUR CRYING

  • GOT DAYUMMM, was this the first boxing film ever recorded?

  • OLD SCHOOL FAGS ! XD
