@86el you have to understand that police are human and humans don't always look out for the public. If you know the law as the guy in the video does then you would know that a cop must give you a valid reason before asking you to step out the car. A reason would be something like "suspected dui" or "speeding" or "license plate reported stolen" not "for my safety".
I would recommend you don't blindly follow everything a cop says because they aren't perfect like everyone else.

I go back from time to time to visit family and friends. the system there has really gotten so bad that a lot of people have lost faith in the NYC system. Days later the ticket was gone after i filled a police report. My incident happened in 2004 and still serving. After serving my 8years i got out of the corps and decided to reside in NC because i hate NY. The cops that pulled me were black and i am black as well, i believe they only pulled me because i was driving a "nice car" with out-of state tag and i am blk, but if those cops had any brains they would have seen my DOD sticker in the windshield where the state inspection sticker would be.
The female cop (she was the passenger) jaws dropped to the ground, them the M cop tried to tell me he can't take the ticket back. I got pissed and asked them to called there supervisor to the scene, bet they just gave me a number to call. I called there number and they told me to come to the station to take care of it. When i got there it took me about 3hrs to talk to someone in charge while the two pigs that gave me a fake ticket were already sent home for the day. how ironic.
Not surprised, While on leave visiting my parents in the Bronks i was driving around town with my sister and younger brother in my car which had out-of-state tag (NC) Two (M&F) pirates pulled me over an tried to claim i was not wearing my seat belt and asked for my license. I gave them my NY state; minute later they drove up next to my driver side and tried to hand me a ticket for failure to wear my seat belt, but when i told them i am was SGT in the Marine on leave and there ticket is bogus

I think what your doing is great. I use to get pulled over about 5 times a month, before i finally sold my truck and got a motorcycle. It's sad because, I have had police pull me over, and make up stupid reasons like my license plate light was out, and when i got out to check it with him it was working fine. Legally, you could get pulled over, turn down your window a few inches, and stay in the car the whole time even if your demanded to get out, even if you deserve a ticket. You could have marajuana in the car, but if you refuse a search, and they force a search on your car and do find the marajuana, you can contest it in court that they illegally searched your car, and all charges are dropped;
@Gtbomb: I am always respectful, sir, and I still get my car searched for being pulled over for a tail light out, and i was on my way to the store to get a new tail light, because one of my co-workers noticed it as I was leaving work. What are you not understanding about "The Constitution" 4th amendment? I have personally watched cops go from, "Ma'am, the reason why I pulled you over..." to "Step out of the car!" Let's debate. Imagine life without Police Officers, imagine life where only the strong, gangsters, criminals, killers would rule the streets if you didn't have a gun. Actually asking you to get out of the car is not unconstitutional, the search would have been unconstitutional if you had done as they asked, by refusing to exit the vehichle at first you gives them probable cause to search the vehicle on the grounds that you are concealing something. Its one of the tricks thats used to justify a search and one that most people bring upon themselves. Cooperation is the best way to fight the various charges that are brought against you in these situations.

Up here in western Canada.... @86el you have to understand that police are human and humans don't always look out for the public. If you know the law as the guy in the video does then you would know that a cop must give you a valid reason before asking you to step out the car. A reason would be something like "suspected dui" or "speeding" or "license plate reported stolen" not "for my safety".
I would recommend you don't blindly follow everything a cop says because they aren't perfect like everyone else.

I have nothing against police if they are doing the job they are supposed to do. All I see and read about are police who abuse their power. Fully armed swat teams to serve simple search warrants, using tasers as a pain compliance devices. Then you ask yourself why L.E.Os are getting a bad rap. Days later the ticket was gone after i filled a police report. My incident happened in 2004 and still serving. After serving my 8years i got out of the corps and decided to reside in NC because i hate NY. The cops that pulled me were black and i am black as well, i believe they only pulled me because i was driving a "nice car" with out-of state tag and i am blk, but if those cops had any brains they would have seen my DOD sticker in the windshield where the state inspection sticker would be.

The female cop (she was the passenger) jaws dropped to the ground, them the M cop tried to tell me he can't take the ticket back. I got pissed and asked them to called there supervisor to the scene, bet they just gave me a number to call. I called there number and they told me to come to the station to take care of it. When i got there it took me about 3hrs to talk to someone in charge while the two pigs that gave me a fake ticket were already sent home for the day. how ironic.

Legally, you could get pulled over, turn down your window a few inches, and stay in the car the whole time even if your demanded to get out, even if you deserve a ticket. You could have marajuana in the car, but if you refuse a search, and they force a search on your car and do find the marajuana, you can contest it in court that they illegally searched your car, and all charges are dropped;

Actually asking you to get out of the car is not unconstitutional, the search would have been unconstitutional if you had done as they asked, by refusing to exit the vehichle at first you gives them probable cause to search the vehicle on the grounds that you are concealing something. Its one of the tricks thats used to justify a search and one that most people bring upon themselves. Cooperation is the best way to fight the various charges that are brought against you in these situations.

Up here in western Canada.... (Vancouver, British Columbia)...an unarmed man was tasered and killed at Vancouver International airport and the cops lied about what happened, then one of those cops was arrested for drunk driving and killing someone and there was a some type of cover up by his fellow cops, people getting shot and killed by cops, it's friggen ridiculous! i guesse the police bullshit and brutality is not just in the USA, but all over North America. The fault is ours. We expect cops to arrive quickly in the event of a home invasion. Problem: if there are enough cops to protect us from home invasion then there are enough cops to harass us and create problems where none exist. The most pressing issue for all cops is finding something to do to justify their jobs. Doing it to you makes just as good a statistic as doing it to a bad guy. WE will have to learn to protect ourselves or we will ALL be busted for "driving while black".
