  • Your voice! How have I never heard of you until today?! This is one of my favorite songs ever, and yours is the only version for me that I enjoy as much as Sinead O'Connor's. Beautiful.

  • Haunting......in a good way!

  • Hey Lindsay, nice version. I've never been a great fan of Luke's version. Glen Hansard did a version for the Liss Ard festival in the late 90's, it's a bit incredible. I've love you to hear it.

And speaking of June Tabor, you have to listen to 'Life is the red wagon'. It's her magnum opus.

Hope to catch you guys live sometime soon, cheers.

  • @novamotel23 Thanks for telling me about it, I didn't know he had recorded a version. It is really, really lovely! And I'll have to add 'Life is the red wagon' to my list of albums to get.

If you do ever get the chance to come to one of our shows, make sure to stop by and introduce yourself afterwards!

  • Great version of the song. You've got all it takes to establish yourself as a TRUE ARTIST.

  • @ZadZadrack Wow, thank you! For this and the comment below. I'm not sure I deserve such epic praises, but it's nice to hear all the same!

  • @ivyleafmusic You are so modest, and this is the trait of a TRUE ARTIST. Wishing you the best of luck. Go for it with good old Celtic confidence and with a Darby O'Gill's pure spirit of adventure in the music world.

  • Magic is an ever prevalent spiritual force; you see it everywhere;in waterfalls and flowing rivers, amazing rocks formed along Hillsides and stretched moutain ranges, ocean waves washing rock faces, forest trees and fields of corn, BUT ABOVE ALL YOU SEE IT IN CELTIC VOCALS. Just listen to lindsaystraw.

  • this is amazing! is there an mp3 to download/buy?

  • @PichettoFratame Thanks! Not yet, but it will be released soon on my band The Ivy Leaf's CD. When it's available, I'll post the link in the video info section!

  • @lindsaystraw Great! In the meanwhile you got yourself a new subscriber.

  • You have a really amazing voice i would listen to you sing all day, luke kelly's version has been by favourite for years but you have blown him out of the way, i can't stop listening to your version its the best version i have ever heard and i don't say that lightly i play music myself and i know how hard it is to capture peoples interest but you have done this to a tee well done and best of luck for the future

  • @raymo956 Wow, that's quite a compliment! Thanks! Best of luck to you in your musical adventures, as well.

  • most beautifull version and voice to this song iv ever heard!!

  • hmmm pretty good singing there woman!!!

  • @dereksmallsuk Why, thank you!

  • your voice sounds like a mix of jessica radcliffe simpson and june tabor

  • @stillwaterjames1 Oh my gosh, you know, I've known about June Tabor for a long time but never taken the time to listen to her! I will most certainly remedy that (and am now). I'm flattered that you find a similarity. I can't seem to track down any Jessica Radcliffe Simpson, though - do you have any suggestions on where to find her music?

  • @lindsaystraw She used to be married to Martin Simpson for many years and recorded with him as a vocalist and a songwriter

  • Brilliant

  • Lovely, really lovely!!!

  • Wonderful!

  • What tunings by the ways?

  • @johnmacward The guitar is just in standard and the bouzouki is in GDAD (with a capo on the 3rd fret)

  • You blew me away, blew me right off the planet.

  • Impressive voice and a most professional performance!

  • You have an absolutely amazing voice :) Keep up the great music! Music is life!

  • just great!

  • her voice is beautuful

  • what a shame that this got so few views...it's simply brilliant done....I wonder if you pick the guitar just with the plec or at the same time with fingers too?! : )

  • @burkardheike Mostly plectrum but on that little intro bit I did my first ever attempt at flatpick-fingerstyle combined! Oh, and thank you!!

  • Brilliant...

  • Wow, this version is beautiful! You have a wonderful singing voice. True talent :)

  • Maybe this is the best version of Raglan Road I've ever heard : elegant, spellbinding, magic. Thank you for this gift.
