sort of like a flower opening up in the morning? same thing. the branches warm up and stretch upwards in the direction of the sun to absorb as much sunlight as possible--it has nothing to do with the weight of the snow.
i love this video, i usually watch it 3x in a row everyday. i dig the little song that goes with it. would be stoked to have like a 5 minute version of just that song so i could then play that 3x in a row everyday, too! thanks for making this video.

thanks! it was kind of a fluke that I happened to set up the time lapse during that huge dumpload of snow...we rarely get that much snow around here

Great! Two things I never saw like that: snow growing and branches liftung up again when they loose the weight of snow.
Maybe You like to visit the group/phenology, where a lot of wonderful seasonal time-lapse videos are collected!
