At 2:05, what part of the reed did he cut a little bit off of to smooth out the sound, the tip or the heart?
Thanks

how much do all those machines cost??
mattysnailboy 2 years ago
Depends. The gougers I believe cost a couple thousand while the rest are in the hundreds.
The gouging machine he's using is a Ross Gouging machine, which is priced around $1000. Others usually cost between $1500-$2000.

I've been playing for 29 years since middle school and it has always been a struggle. It always amazes me to hear a professional play so easily.

You are probably doing one or more of the following:
1. Biting the reed when you play
2. Have Too thin windows/Tip
3. Hitting the reed too hard with your tounge when you play
