  • la puta madre!!

  • these monks would kick ass in a krumping battle

  • LOL

  • shaolin is martial arts with a lil bit ofbreakdancin watch other videos u see alotof freezes and diff moves combined in there

  • shaolin kung fu has soo much acrobatics like gymnatsic till its called a dance. Its lost its martial value

  • great performance..but THIS is not dance...wtf..

  • @saffatlol this is a form of dance martial arts is an art its a combat, its a dance and also a way of life.

  • they are so discipline

  • THE TEMPLE IS SELLING THE ART SHORT...

    THIS IS DISTURBING...

    DOES ANYONE SEE WHATS WRONG...

BEING A PRACTITIONER OF AUTHENTIC SHAOLIN KUNG FU...THIS SHIY IRRITATES ME.

    Y.E.S.

  • why is this dance?

  • i am chinese but does this even considered as dancing -_-?

  • LOL SUBLIMINAL MSG'S

  • yhis is something we could say dramatical dance, 7.5 pts...

  • National Geographic Dance Party Vol. 6?

  • WTF was that thing at 2:34?!

  • I remember actually watching that event on TV.

  • Eh, it's wushu. Certainly not a fighting style, something like dance perhaps. And very fun to watch.

  • @sickosandsuch something like dancing? wtf this is martial arts, shaolin, and it has many many fighting styles, and they do fight, what you see here and in the movies is just for demonstration, but it is a martial art

  • I'm aware that gung-fu works in a fight, I have a bunch of martial-artist friends. I'm just saying that the forms are somewhat dance-like in their flashy intensity.

  • biggest pedophile announcer ever?

  • those two boys would kick my ass easy :/

  • Those 2 little boys were just to adorable XD this was deffinitly one of my favorite dances

  • its more kung fu than danceing

  • As someone who trained in chinese martial arts for more than a decade, and also a dancer (mainly popping and locking), this has to be the most retarded thing I've seen. This is a dance competition and in no way are they dancing. Yes they are good at the wushu/kung fu, but that is martial arts, NOT dance. How can it be classified as a dance when their training does not even include music? furthermore, their movements are not even coordinated with the music they are using. Absolutely ridiculous

  • dancing doesn't have to involve music. dancing is the movement of the body. any form of movement of the body can be consider as dancing.

  • um...no.. sorry but i would disagree. Is walking dancing? it's a movement of the body. Under your classification, it would be dancing. Is a person doing jumping jacks dancing? that's a movement of the body. I understand if you are open-minded and emphasizing one's own artistic expression but dance still has to involve rhythm, and that rhythm still has to be structured. That rhythm and motion should compliment each other and work as one. Rhythm and motion are NOT in unison in this vid.

  • Only the ignorant would classify this as dance. Ask any wushu (that's the style of martial arts that they are doing) practictioner out there and the majority of them would tell you that they get pissed off each time someone says that what they are doing is a dance. All of my wushu aquaintances from around my city AND the world share this mentality. How can it be classified as a dance when the people doing this doesn't even classify it as a dance?

  • i like your comment very very much im a wushu (modernized shaolin kung fu) practictioner and shaolin is not a dance it 's a martial art wich could be classed in this case as a preformance art

  • dam for like 2 iunno 9/10 yrs old that was dam sic thx for sharing :D

  • itz only "sick" because you don't know what they have been through. You will actually be sick (disgusted) when you learn that they probably have been training 10 hours a day since they were 4 years old. Unfortunately, there are tons of these kids in china (not only doing martial arts, but in gymnastics, weightlifting, etc.). These kids are only exceptional compared to 9/10 yr old north americans. If we can put our kids into the same training regiment as them, we would get the same product.

  • so dude just like the move in martial arts and stuff he 540 kick spin is known as a B-Boy move too. And also i know wut they been through.. I've been put through these kind of stuff when i was 3. so yu don't have to argue through out this whole video!!!!

  • relax dude. I'm just stating my opinion and the reasons for it. As for the Bboy move, they bit that off from martial arts. But any knowledgable dancer would tell you that dancing has two parts. 1)Technique(moves) & 2)groove part(feeling to the music). Ideally, you want both, but you can still be considered dancing with #2 alone. However, #1 alone does not count as dancing. Lastly, if you know what they have been through, then you would know that itz only natural that they are that good.

  • like i said i know wut they been through im a b-boy myself and martial artiist too but yu also forgot a #3

    3) yu need good rhythm and have to be in totally sync to be that good

  • One learns something new every day. Liger, your argument is logical and convincing. I agree that this was less of a dance and more of a martial arts performance.

  • wat da hell is up wit 2:35

  • This was a great show, but the judging shouldn't be done by opposing countries. There was another performance with the Shaolin Monks where everyone gave 9's or 10's, except for the US judge, where he gave them an 8 because he didn't want China beating US.

  • This is the Best!!!!!!!!!

  • what was in 2:35

  • stupid show ...worst i'd ever watched

  • where is the dance????

  • where's the dance?

  • I don't want to sound stupid, because I mean this in a good way...I feel like I'm watching some cool super smash bros clip.

  • i dont think i would classify this as dancing, but boy oh boy, would i hate getting on their wrong side, ........=O

  • Comment removed

  • same here :P

    on both comments.

no doubt this is fucking amazing but they dont get high on the scoreboard mainly cuz the US(A) has already adopted the moves they do and turned it into an actual dance style, theyre just passing theyre martial arts as "dancing" by putting music to it and choreographing into dance-like...setups (for lack of a better word).

  • those guys were amazing

  • wtf i really did expected moore(?), groovaloos was bringin it! :D

  • These guys r the only reason i watch this show!

  • Did the monks won?

  • I'll just come out and say it, if any of you idiots think these guys copied from breakdancers then you need to thank your parents for the public education that you failed.

  • and your public education did you no good, because someone ignorant enough to think just because something has been around longer means it can't change based on other things around it...

shaolin monks are ancient... and even though they are a mostly closed culture... there is still exposure to the outside world for that culture and things are learned from that exposure

  • So, your saying it is more likely that a secluded group of ascetic monks copied from the guys who did "Breakin" than the other way around? I guess the fact that there are videos of these guys doing routines like this a good 40 years before breakdancing existed isn't going to change your mind. Tell ya what, go to China and start telling everyone that their monks bit off of off of the 80's breakdancers, see where that gets you.

  • I didn't say anything about monks biting on breakers... they didn't... especially nothing in this video... but your whole point was that because monks are older... the monks invented anything they do in their routines or even in their culture... which is horrible logic... hence your public education being a waste... because you're ignorant... go home

  • It seems that reading is not your strong suit, so I'll simplify it a bit for you, I said that there was no way that the Shaolin guys bit off of the breakers. If you are not saying that then what is your problem? My point was simple, and you failed to get it. Oh wait, I know, your problem is that your another clueless idiot who probably didn't even complete your public education, and now live in your moms basement with a "no girls allowed" sign. Please, take this opportunity to STFU ad GTFO.

  • hahaha thats true though they definetly didnt copy from break dancing. break dancing copied from capoeira

  • l think these were the rejects from Shaolin Temple because they were more of Disco Queens then Monks.....lmfaoooo!! Just a joke now so don't get offended anyone, and if you do!! "GET OVER IT".......lol

  • i think youre a ugly fuck faced dick sucking shit licker, so dont get offended, even though your retarted and ignorant...

    GET OVER IT bitch.... lol

  • and i think you're a cock sucking ball sniffing ass licker, so don't get offended, even though i would beat the shit out of you if i ever i met you. oh and by the way, I AM OVER IT, always have been and always will be you chinky bastard.....lmfaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

  • You look like a retard.

  • and you look like a coward.......lol. anyways thank you for the love and support.........bwuahahahaaaaa!!

  • Coward? Proves my point. Dont call people chinks, you little shit.

  • trust me, l'm not little!! l'm a 6'2'' big bitch that will kick the shit right outta ya ass and mouth.......lmfaoooooooooo!!

  • No.

  • and there are poeple who are 6"3 and are also big

  • thta's nice to know...thank you for sharing!!

  • thats ok, anytime!!

  • ill bet they will kick your ass

  • hahahaha......thanks for the laugh!! that's a really funning joke, chinese trying to kick polynesian person's ass!! seriously!! funny thought though....

  • Some can debate whether it is dance or not but it certainly is amazing to watch. Gotta respect their skill level.

  • I don't think Shaolin Monk acrobatics came around 90, they has been doing martial art acrobatics over thousand years. I think the African-American copied from the Chinese movie in the early eighty

  • some Martial Arts where actually studied as dance when the Mongols controled territory for if they where to show up. converting strikes into dance moves. so Martial Arts is in a way a kind of dance

  • I think they count it as dance because it requires intense choreography

  • Actually this is a part of Breakdancing...

    Seen the History of breakdance?

  • thanks for upload, when I try to record it.

our block just had black out for three hours, I missed the monks dance part. I am so happy to see it online, they are so so good

  • dance or not they r going to win

they r jus awesome to watch

  • this is what inspired breakdancing. absolutely exquisite!

  • Breakdance was inspired by African-American Dance... Shaolin Monk stuff only came around the 90s...

Some breakdancer were probably copying some of there stuff in the 90s to now, but Breakdancing definitly was originaly inspired by Shaolin.

  • erm no break dance is american and orginates from hip hop which to is american

  • @EckoStream Please read up on the history of breakdancing and how it started.

  • XD Once again whats the song they used for this "dance"?

  • he pretended it hurt

  • wth

  • Awesome!!

  • taht was great but.. it wasnt dance :/

  • not 100% dance.

  • then thy was it on superstars of DANCE

  • Because this show is trying to get a big variety of dance so they got these dudes who do Kungfu/Dance mix thinger. It was dance, but kung fu also.

  • but still 100% dance

  • I have no idea why China sent Shaolin Monks trained in the martial arts...to do dance. That makes absolutely no sense to me.

  • yeah

  • @hivelocity100 Kinda like capoeira, y'know?

  • @XenGwen yea, but capoeira has a legitimate claim to dance, since its roots was actually a martial art disguised as dance. When in the hell has Shaolin Kung Fu ever evolved as a cultural dance?

  • @hivelocity100 I don't know if it ever did, but it's interesting to watch martial arts with rhythm. I say, why not? Martial arts have specific and unique movements, it would be original to see it in dance.

  • @XenGwen Yea, it would be intersting to see the movements IN a DANCE. What they did was not dance. Maybe if they got a dance choreographer, and actually danced to the rhythm, with a combination of their Kung Fu moves...ok. But they just did straight martail arts. Why not? Well, because it's not DANCE! I mean...it'd be weird if I went to a singing contest and did a magic show.

  • @hivelocity100 ... seriously? you can't see how the physical ability, the pure fluidity, and, ridiculous discipline of training in martial arts of that caliber translate into dancing? Read the Miyamoto Musashi's "Book of the Five Rings" or sun Tzu's "Art of War" and you will hopefully understand that as far as many eastern cultures are concerned martial arts is a dance. It is all about the rhythm, the acting, the reacting, and the in-acting. It might be a dance to the death, but, it is dance.

  • @liefswanson I have a decent history with martial arts. And I actually own both Art of War and Book of Five Rings. I haven't finished reading both yet, tho. And you are still incorrect. Martial arts is not dance. If you're gonna start blurring lines between words...."rhythm, acting, reacting and in-line acting...." might as well call a lot of other things, dance too...why even call it dance...then? I mean...going by those concepts...playing video games is dancing. Arm-wrestling is dancing. etc.

  • @hivelocity100 well actually the way miyamoto musashi put it. Anything can be done through use of the principals of martial arts. the things written in the book of the five rings are meant to transcend martial arts into EVERYTHING. so i hardly see blurring the lines of definitions to be a bad thing.

  • @hivelocity100 Because Martial arts is an art as well as dancing. They both are fluid and have beautiful movements

  • @rockstarsanger7 its a dancing show not an art show

  • @michelle334 Dancing is an art

  • @rockstarsanger7 Dancing is an art. Martial arts is also art. They are both subcategories under the category of art. It makes them related, not equivalent.

  • @hivelocity100 If I remember correctly there was a time when fighting and learning how to protect yourself through training was only available through the army and anyone found practicing was executed for treason or something of the sort. SO in order to train people to fight without looking like they were fighting they created a from of martial arts that looked like dancing so they lied and said they were dancing.. in order to survive. Then when the time came they kicked ass.. just like yours :)

  • @nazariosam Well I dunno why they would kick my ass. I dunno why you're taking offense to my opinion. I have a long history with martial arts, and you seem to incorporated a bit of capoeira and elements of japanese karate, and chinese kung fu into your history. Are you speaking of a particular art?

  • I think AudreyAHHHH answerd that sufficiantly xaznboixd.

  • what song is this? its great with their performance
