I always think of my dad when I hear or attempt to play this song. I was learning guitar when he passed away two years ago on the day today. I find it mysterious that I run into this video tonight on the exact day two years to the date that he passed. Maybe there really is something out there greater than this life. This is one of my brother's favorite songs. He's overseas in Afghanistan (for the second time). Every time I hear this song I think of him because I never get to see him. He enlisted when I was like 9 so I don't have that many memories of him and I only get to see him a few times a year, if that.

I am drawn back to your video over and over and over again. It's so incredibly touching. I find it difficult to translate this video into words. Haunting, sad, joyous, pain, longing, heartache, tears, like something was ripped out from inside your chest, such deep, deep sadness, pain, love and inner longing for a soul that is gone. "How I wish you were here" No better words spoken.
Words cannot express this video. I watched it 5 times in a row. The never ending pain, loss and longing overflowed my conciousness. It will get a little better with time but thankfully never go away.
I hated to use the word "awesome" for that video. You did an excellent job at expressing your love and pain. It was a very moving video. I am sorry for your loss.
i feel you loss, i lost my dad to cancer almost a year ago today, october the 18th. Its little consolation but ,one has to remind oneself that we are blessed by gifts in our life and that life without these gifts in the first place them would be the greatest loss.

this song is great...simple but very touching,i play it very often. above all it has the ability to mean whatever you want it...for the floyd its obviously about syd...but everyone can turn it into their own song,because it has a meaning for each one of us
