@Northax Race equates with breed, not with species. There is no judgement involved in recognizing that there are differences between the races/breeds of people. Just as one breed of dog/etc has certain physical strengths/weaknesses, so do the different races of people. Recognizing those differences and working WITH them should be the goal. @Pangolin17 The concept of Race has a firm genetic base, but yes you are right that it also has a significant amount of social construction. The best way to differentiate is by studying genetic markers i.e haplogroups and the characteristics that they produce is their purest form. So mixed people have to be discounted.

But, it has been socially constructed (often wrongly)..a prominent example is how the term "white" has become a color metaphor used to describe a mythical "white" race even though there are many races that are white (Indo-European, Cro Magnon, Japanese, Turkic peoples etc.) This is why there are many different "white" traits as compared with other races.

Some people are misunderstanding what's going on here. They've found that some or all non-Africans may have 2-4% overlap in their genome with Neanderthals. However, that still leaves the vast, vast bulk of their genes (96-98%) from population clines that migrated out of Africa. So, there are still NO extant humans whose DNA does not trace back to Africa.

@Northax Race equates with breed, not with species. There is no judgement involved in recognizing that there are differences between the races/breeds of people. Just as one breed of dog/etc has certain physical strengths/weaknesses, so do the different races of people. Recognizing those differences and working WITH them should be the goal. What's insecure and/or ignorant is to pretend they don't exist and/or to legislate to the benefit of one over the other. Disease afflicts the races disproportionately, one may be more prone to certain cancers over another (this is an actual fact regarding cervical and breast cancers). Recognizing that people are different is simply observant and wise. HOW that information is used is another story.

The best way to differentiate is by studying genetic markers i.e haplogroups and the characteristics that they produce is their purest form. So mixed people have to be discounted.

But, it has been socially constructed (often wrongly)..a prominent example is how the term "white" has become a color metaphor used to describe a mythical "white" race even though there are many races that are white (Indo-European, Cro Magnon, Japanese, Turkic peoples etc.) This is why there are many different "white" traits as compared with other races.

When I worked for the department of Justice, a newspaper came across the Attorney General's desk, it read: 47% percent of all hate crimes are committed against African-Americans. He was so shocked. I knew that little fact but he (being in such a high position didn't know that). I lost respect for him. Latinos, homosexuals, a Jews were last. Now its still blacks, latinos & Arabs, whites are last. Do be so stupid.

It's so stupid & racist for whites to claim that Africans are primates. It's just their racist way of feeling better about themselves. my main concern about this genetic dystinctiveness is,how this will affect our perception of comprehensive and the state of conciousness between races? The moment it is propogated that per say a caucasian is smarter than an african we have some big hitler problems. All of these races are able to speak,read,write ect.
