  • just wondering if you are selling it or willing to build another one reply to

    sschicagoil@yahoo.com

  • uhm, thats 120k well spent

  • How much $ would it cost for that boat like it sits right now cost?

  • What hull is that? It's so deep! I LOVE it! Beautiful boat! You don't usually see stereo systems in these things, do you?

  • @CRFbadass the hull is an ultra 23xs

  • @CRFbadass every one ive been in had a steres system

  • r u on the colorado river in yuma arizona??

  • @thelegoenginefreak yes this is the lower river by Yuma

  • @johnf2000 me and my dad go there all the time we have a 1970 bereley jet with a blown ford 460

  • Best water toy ever! Good video too music plus motor symphony.

  • dear santa.....

  • All the work on the engine and using fram garbage oil filter

  • i have seen you on rice road towing this boat i believe

  • whats the name of the song..

  • Love that Tail!

  • One of the jet drive outputs is being pointed all the way up, while the other is still pushing the boat, right? That's the only way I can see it shooting that much water that high...

BTW, I'm not a boat guy, so if this is way off, soz.

  • @llldodgelll no having one will do the same thing while pointed up the rooster isnt for looks its to make the bow of the boat stay out of the water for choppy waters and such but it always looks cool to tho

  • Not sure if this comment goes to johnf2000 ultra dual jet but I love the idea and was wanting to know if your the owner? Jet guys have all the fun and this looks like a way to to have twice as much. (must have).

  • @stephenboats

thanks, it is a lot of fun. I am the owner

  • Hell yeah dude check out what I did to mine, can you take that gear box out of gear? that would be nice, I'm just running a Berkeley 12JF pump I like the dual setup you got tho, did you change the ratio at all to keep the rpms down a bit?

  • Which Little Feat song is that?

  • How do you adjust the roster tail?

  • @crazyfingerz27 It's called a "Jet-Ovater" trim 'n' tilt control arm. Drop me a note and I'll explain in more detail... lat'r Buzz

  • my god, its, its so beautiful where can i get one

  • That rooster is just awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn overkill!

  • it'd be fun to go tubing behind that

  • There is no special piece that makes the rooster tail. With dual jet drives you just trim one drive all the way up and leave one down to keep the boat moving.

  • I'm Willin' for more Little Feat!

  • Thats a nice rooster tail

  • who built this boat, I meen liike where did the hull come from that fit the dual drives? and how long is the boat, and what brand jet drives?

  • The hull is an Ultra 23 XS the company who builds the dual jet drive and rigged the boat is R&D Marine in Anaheim Ca, Harold Bruce. The engine builder is Jim Guthry Los Angeles Ca.

  • Hell yeah dude check out what I did to mine, can you take that gear box out of gear? that would be nice, I'm just running a Berkeley 12JF pump I like the dual setup you got tho, did you change the ratio at all to keep the rpms down a bit?

  • that roost... isent that a high powerd pump that pumbs water out like that??

  • Yes, that'd be the two white things at 0:12. They are called jet pumps, and are the whole point of a jet boat. Without them, the jet boat doesn't go. Newton's 3rd law of motion and all that.

  • ty i alwasy thaught there was the jet and a seperate pump that you turn on manualy and it pumps water out to make the big roost...dont think im stupid for saying that im only 14

  • np. What causes a jetboat to kick a roost like that is called a "jetavator", and causes part or all of the water jet to go up instead of straight back. They use this to trim the nose of the boat up. On some PWCs (also jet drive) there is a "mister" that taps some amount of water flow out of the jet and sends it straight up to increase visibility to other traffic. That sprays up a lot of water, but it's no rooster tail :)

  • Man you're stupid for saying that, even though you are 14. That makes it worse.

  • how do you get such a big rooster?

  • beautiful boat

  • well that would suck to wakeboard behind

  • all those expensive parts and you're running a fram filter?

  • funny, about every six months someone makes a comment on the fram filter. Its technically a racing filter. In the end, do you really think there is a significant difference between a racing fram and a k&n, or any other filter? Just curious they are going to have similar particle size removal and flow. and in the end they are disposable

  • yes, there is a large difference. from the drain back valve, to the filter element itself and the amount used. fram filters use cardboard end caps that are glues in place.

fram extra guard element surface area: 193 square inches.

purolator pure one element surface area: 400 square inches.

wix element surface area: 349 square inches.

  • "The rubber anti-drainback valve seals against the cardboard and frequently leaks, causing dirty oil to drain back into the pan. The bypass valves are plastic and are sometimes not molded correctly, which allows them to leak all the time."

  • "The stamped-metal threaded end is weakly constructed and it has smaller and fewer oil inlet holes, which may restrict flow. I had one of these filters fail in my previous car. The filter element collapsed and bits of filter and glue were circuilating through my system. The oil passge to the head became blocked and the head got so hot from oil starvation that it actually melted the vacuum lines connected to it as well as the wires near it."

  • i dont know a lot about k&n oil filters, i dont use them, but i do know their air filters are a joke. i have seen the stock paper air filters outflow a k&n "racing" filter.

  • True that on the Air filters - The only good thing about the oil filter is theres no high pressure by-pass.

  • True that on the air filters! The only good thing about their oil filters is that theres no high pressure by-pass, Which works out well for a boat engine which runs a higher Rpm's than a non-marine engine. I sometimes run 4200Rpm for 30 mins+ And that's in a cruiser not even a muscle boat (2001 merc. 5.0 efi )

  • @johnf2000 hey actually my father in law has an electronic oil pressure gauge that he hooks up to his laptop along with other egine monitoring systems when he breaks in a new engine for his pre runner and i seen the oil pressure shoot up 5lbs when he swapped a baldwin oil filter in. i guess theres a difference in the filter media inside the filter. who kn0ws though...

  • @johnf2000 frams quality has gone downhill. cardboard endcaps and cheap materials make it a questionably filter at best. i would never run one on any of my applications, but thats just me. i don't think theres been any catastrophic failure due to a fram filter but when you can get a better quality filter for less money. in most cases i've seen "racing" frams have the same filter element as the ph filters.

its your choice. purolator for example makes excellent quality filters for less money

  • @johnf2000 yes theirs quite a bit difference lol dont run a fram

  • That was the first thing I saw. I cracked up when I scrolled down and read this comment.

  • Dude thats so awesome....lol i wish i had one..haha i got a sl 1050 waverunner that throws a rooster tail but that ones huge..

  • are friends jet boat is a 1500 horse

  • Independantly controlled trim for each nozzle?

  • They have separate hydraulics but are tied together. No reason to operate them separately.

  • dude.....this is overkill....and I LOVE IT

  • hey

    top speed?

  • beautiful boat very nice job

  • give me ! :P

  • what a machine

  • If the video will not play, click on the HQ button or high quality button

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • Imagine how cool it would be to steer the second jet independantly? hehe. This is the most awesome boat I have ever seen!

  • honestly that engine just made me come.

  • if the video doesnt play click on watch in high quality and it will play

  • Little feet, Love it. Nice boat too.

  • I've always been a prop guy but I'd have to say I like what you did with your boat. What's the name of the song?

  • imagine how cool that would be to waterski behind it while it's throwing that rooster tail

    wow, awesome boat!

  • solcat, sorry accidentally removed your question. Re time to plane, its approx 1 sec. Difficult to determine, it almost goes on plane instantly.

  • you could use that to put out fires

  • if you dont get sound, watch in the "high quality" setting and it will play for you.

  • how fast have you had it going?

  • this video was good

someone smart please help me JU

  • I like your style! It is perfect. I can just imagine the FUN FACTOR! Who gives a rip about the top speed and the gas it uses? Life is not like You Tube with a "replay" button. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, and it looks like you know how to do that, so way to go. I love the video.

  • You hit the nail right between the eyes Hobiretired! No one ever said "I wish I went to work way more" as they lay on their death bed. They would say: "I wish I has spent my money on a boat like this!"

  • sick boat

  • carai, vei!

  • The Fram oil filter is fuggin scary though, WTF?

  • Its a racing filter should handle the power.

  • Screw you dumb tree hugging, burning a hole in the ozone, global warming morons. People with toys like these (self included) could give a $hit less about gas prices. We will play with our toys regardless if gas is $10/gal.

  • nice engine good clip

  • Stop the hate, I don't think he cares about the gas prices. I use about 80 galons a week in my Baja 275 boss with 496 Mag HO, But it's worth it. How about twin engines and four jet drives next time!!!!!!! You'll ROCK

  • have fun with the gas price.

  • Whats the purpose oof having dual jets hooked to a single engine...is it just to get a sweet tail or what? I can't imagine it being more effecient than a single setup which will get ya well over 100mph in a boat your size.

  • First, I have never seen single or dual jet boat this size and heavy do 100 mph let alone over. The dual jets out perform a single, when you try to run a jet on a boat this big. There is not a single jet boat this big that can run with this one . It is more efficient because it doesnt cavitate. Large single jet boats cavitate and thus are less efficient.

  • I put my foot in my mouth because I actually don't know how big your boat is. I'm used to boats in the 19' to 26' or so range. And I suppose "well over" really means a few miles an hour in most cases. How big is your boat?

  • Its a 23 foot ultra.

  • My uncle had a single jet this length with a twin turbo 468 that did 97 on the laser with two big guys in it.. It was very similar to your boat but it must have been lighter, the hull was made here in salem Or by one of his friends.

  • By the Way...awesome boat!

  • my first time seeing dual jet drives, what kind of transmission set up to you have, is it direct drive to both, well not direct but 1:1

  • no transmission just a gear box connecting the two pumps to the motor. The gear box and dual jet intake and hardware is made by R&D Marine out of Orange County Ca.

  • All that money invested into that motor & you put a cheap ass fram oil filter on it. Come on!!

  • Wix all the way baby!!!

  • it sounds like poetry in motion

  • What a beast!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just had to fav that!!

  • wow, thats some nice hardware, your boat is a work of art. If someones boat was on fire you could put it out too....

  • whats the top speed of this boat

  • very nice boat

  • Very wicked..

Tale of all tails...gonna take a lot to top that..

  • That`s not a boat, that`s skywasher...

  • If that boat ever becomes available to buy, let me know.

    DesperadoDave

  • Very very nice! I bet it suck alot of fuel huh?

  • little feat is the band

  • Anyone who puts a "Fatman In the Speedboat" is alright with me ... but where's Juanita?

  • Put a prop on that boat and it will be faster with that 1000HP motor. FYI the rooster tail slows the boat down a little doesnt it.

  • yes the prop would have a higher top speed. But this boat has a 0-60 time of 6 seconds, with four people on board and a full tank of gas. A prop on this boat couldn't touch that. And yes the diverter up for a rooster tail is just playing around and does reduce the speed. But that's why the video is titled huge rooster tail, not top speed.

  • wonder how much gas he does thro? lol

  • is that a advantage?

  • How Much $

  • lol someone should go wakeboardin behind that

  • That is a bad ass boat

  • Sweet!

  • DAYM NICE BOAT!!!!

  • Now thats a pump

  • This is a silly question, but how do they kool the engine when the boat is hopping across the water.

  • There are 2 types of cooling systems one type the jet pump runs the cooling the 2nd is a closed system like a car the water from the jet pump goes into a heat exchanger.

  • As long as the pump(s) have water, it pumps cooling water either directly through the engines (sometimes after going through the exhaust manifolds to prewarm it), to to a heat exchanger if it's closed loop cooling.

  • so, what kind of boat is it?

  • mysteryman,

Ultra Custom Boats in California, owned by John West, built the boat. It's a 23' V bottom with a 1000hp supercharged motor.

  • Any Marine Fire Dept would be envious of that. Crazy flow there.

  • i just sold my boat kinda like that not to long ago

  • nasty man... just nasty !!

  • I haven't seen a shaft drive or a #6 with that tall a rooster, awesome!! What boat is that?

  • This boat runs in the high 70's. with not pump mods. I dont think Harolds intentions are to match the "speed" of an outdrive. Jets dont do that. But a goal after tuning in the high 80's maybey low 90's is achievable. Regarding the fuel consumption being high due to the dual jet, is just the opposite. The blown572 has more to do with that. The dual jet running in its optimum range is more effiecient on this boat than a single jet would be.

  • Good to hear about the dual-jet fuel efficiency. I believe Paul Pfaff has built an 800hp N/A motor that weighs 700lbs to compete with the Ilmor 700. Ron Munson of Marine Assault builds an N/A 705/1000 motor.

Hot Boat just ran an article on the dual jet drive. I myself love the concept and for deck boats and lake boats up to 28 feet there is no better drive system out there for safety and acceleration. I wonder how it would work on Advantage Boats' new 29 X-Flight?

  • Jets do that indeed! Mark Cromie Holden from New Zealand went 125mph in his and Spencer King from Canada goes 120 mph if not more. Look up: Jetboating like no other, or, 2006 Whitecourt Races

  • Hi, who's the maker of the gear drive on this boat and where can I order one? Thanks in advance! ^^

  • R&D Marine in Anaheim Calif makes the intake and gear box.

  • Thank you for informing me. I'll contact them for more details. Hope to see more cool videos from you and this is a very nice boat!

  • or more!!

  • Can i have it? :)

  • It's a Merlin (Big Block Chevy) with a 10-71 Blower. THAT IS AWESOME!!! Please make more ROOSTER Videos with that boat. more More MORE!!!

  • if you's feel like giving one away to a kiwi for testing purposes...i have space in my shed! ;)

  • Whats the top speed on that thing?

  • thats so cool

  • that thing got a hemi?

  • No. It is a 572 Merlin with an 8-71 blower and intercooler
